They don’t need to move like Fury, they just need to move better than Wilder, which even my nan can do with a zimmer frame that has a broken wheel. As for reach; he has a five inch advantage over Whyte, but as we’ve seen time and time again, Wilder cannot control the distance. The only time he can is when an opponent simply doesn’t throw back, which Whyte would not do. He has an entire, whopping, one inch advantage over AJ
and again, as we’ve already seen, Wilder appears to have difficulties with people that are the same height and not 4 inches shorter.
Whyte would maul Wilder and all Wilder would do is walk straight backwards with his hands held up high. He’s terrible at controlling range and terrible fighting on the inside.
Doesn’t matter what AJ does. He could box him like he did Ruiz; the movement would frustrate Wilder because he can only land on a a target directly in front of him, then you take any hard punch AJ landed on Ruiz and Wilder goes jelly legs and gets pummelled. Or he can go straight at him and take his weak chin off.
People always say “they’re not Fury though”...like Wilder wasn’t exposed by and didn’t struggle against Eric Molina, Gerald Washington, Artur Szpilka, or Luis Ortiz (twice). He has a punchers chance against anybody, but anybody with actual boxing fundamentals and a big punch has more than a good chance against Wilder.
Against top level, big, hard punching opposition, his one trick will not make up for his countless inadequacies and low IQ.
