Roy vs Collins Calzaghi Eubanks

Yeah I thought that was fair line of questioning from Eubank, and Collins took it badly. Touched a nerve maybe. Collins seems up himself, walking off like that, how petty. I also thought Eubank's summation of his fights with Collins was spot on, that Collins beat him through sheer willpower more than anything else, and again Collins took it sort of personallyHi der bros.
I've watched that thing a couple of times, think it was originally aired quite a few years ago. I've never ranked Steve Collins that highly, don't know why. He seems to be up his own ass big time. Makes out like Roy was running scared, but then retired rather than fight a green Calzaghe himself. Still to this day is in denial about ducking Joe. I liked how Chris Eubank held him to account for that.
The angle with Freddie King is interesting, I've never heard it mentioned much. Maybe I'm wrong on this but I think Freddie worked some of Eubank's fights before he teamed up with Collins? Anyway, without Freddie, Collins wouldn't have stood a chance. When Collins is talking about planning being the deciding factor, he's talking about Freddie's planning, not his own. But he misses the point, which is that the plan only worked because Collins is such a stubborn, bloody-minded kind of guy, ready to stick in there for three minutes of every round. I tend to agree with Eubank when he says that Collins is not a better boxer than him. Same goes for Benn vis-a-vis Collins. Which sounds ridiculous on the face of it, but there we are. I guess if I was Collins, having beaten both Benn and Eubank but consistently rated lower than them, I'd be pissed off tooComment

Steve clearly wasn't in Eubank's class, one was messy, slow and amateurish and the other (Eubank Sr) had perfect form for the most part, poetry in motion pretty much. Still can't believe Collins beat him, it's weird.Yeah I thought that was fair line of questioning from Eubank, and Collins took it badly. Touched a nerve maybe.
