He justified his actions to say she was “on drugs.” She has the right to contest those statements. Seeing how the court allowed the case to continue in favor of Harris’ claim I would imagine, since we know Floyd is insecure with money, that the SMART thing to do is make an offer to end it, make both parties happy and move on. I’m saying, if you READ the article, the case was still going. IF I were Floyd, with all the money he boasts about, I would imagine he would settle to end such a case. Common sense? If I had a net worth of $50mil. I wouldn’t give up on $20mil for “defamation,” and I would at least REASON with Harris to say, “I’ll give you $500k.”

Harris told USA TODAY Sports in 2014 she suffered physical abuse from Mayweather on six occasions.

Mayweather explained his version of the events in response to questions about domestic violence from Couric in 2015.

“Did I kick, stomp, and beat someone? No, that didn’t happen. I look in your face and say, ‘No, that didn’t happen.’ Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that’s domestic violence, then you know what? I’m guilty of restraining a person,” he said.

Harris countered and sued Mayweather for $20 million for defamation. A California appeals court ruled against Mayweather’s objections in 2018 and allowed the lawsuit to proceed. The case was scheduled to go to court later this year.
