Do these fat heavyweight boxers train for stamina ?

They don’t fight and a rapid pace. Watch James Toney he stated relaxation is the key to not tire

      Which fat heavyweights?

Ruiz's stamina betrayed him against Parker and in the AJ rematch as well.

Fury is probably the only "fat" heavyweight with really good stamina and he has had it from his days fighting in supermarkets on channel 5.

Not sure who’s fat but when you do a thread and can’t list them it’s a void subject .

If your talking about Kownacki and Arreola it could be they were just fighting a long time as heavy set kids . Fat also burns slower then muscle ,to have more muscle you need to be in better shape actually in boxing because certain fights are going to have certain punch counts ,keeping hands up, training for 12 rounds not short term fight and so on . Being heavy however will effect foot speed ,see Ruiz.

Some fat guys naturally have stamina.

I know a fat lad who grafts on a building site all day and then goes for a long run after it.

He's still fat because he's a hardcore drinker who doesn't watch his diet & eats a load of s***, but he's fit as a fiddle.

In Jarrel Miller’s case, take a plethora of PEDS.

The short answer is, your physique doesn't really speak to your fitness level. I learned this firsthand in the army, a PSG that led a company run with an impressive beer gut showed me to never underestimate how fast a man can move, he stayed several meters ahead of all of us.

Similarly, body builders who don't do enough cardio are in terrible shape stamina and endurance wise.

Additionally, in boxing, you learn to (if you're smart anyway) move economically. This means not expending energy unless necessary. B-Hop and Toney were exceptional at this.

                    Excellent point and examples.

To the ts, you hear a lot that boxing is not a bodybuilding competition, that is just to explain boxers don't train to look good in the ring, they are conditioned for a specific activity, and if they're still eating too much while getting into fighting shape guess what... they will still look fat while being able to do the rounds they need to do. Granted, they would be even fatter if they over ate and didn't train, but a lot of these guys are still over eating while simultaneously acquiring the conditioning required to fight.
