Comments Thread For: Hearn: I Want Fury To Make His Mandatory, Not Become Franchise Champ

Eddie Hearn, promoter for heavyweight contender Dillian Whyte, does not want the World Boxing Council to make Tyson Fury a 'franchise' champion. Whyte is the WBC's interim champion and the mandatory challenger to Fury's world title. Pursuant to an order that was issued in 2019 by the WBC, Whyte must receive his mandatory shot by February of 2021.

    Franchise Champ

Fury just became champion he has to defend the belt against is mandatory. Elevating a guy to franchise champ is bull crap.
Fury isn’t interested in fighting Whyte because Dillian put Tyson on the canvas Twice in Training.

Joshua will be around after your Mandatory.

          Surprise surprise...

He wants his potential double bubble for all the marbles just like Arum.

Personally, (and I accept there's a tiny chance) I hope they fit Whyte in February as agreed.

So obviously hearn intends that Joshua will fight his TWO mandatories, Pulev and Usyk, before moving onto Fury?

Talk about the franchise belt should be squashed by the WBC...Old demented Arum brought that crap up.

Undisputed wouldn’t happen if there isn’t all the belts on the line, if Fury accepts the fake belt then AJ should go ahead and fight the winner between Whyte and one trick pony, am tired of the boxing politics.

You read it well. Boxing appears to be the only political sport in the world and its failure to reform itself will soon drive it to total oblivion. Joshua fight Whyte instead for all the belts if Fury is made the franchise champion. Where do the WBC even dig all of crap belts from?

I'm sure you also believe that Whyte got shot at 12, pulled the bullet out, stitched it up himself and his mom never found out?

Guy is a pathological liar who just went life and death with Wach. Fury isn't ducking the loser by wanting to face better fighters.
