Comments Thread For: Derevyanchenko: Golovkin Fight Was Really Close, But I Won; Would Love A Rematch

Watching footage of his brutal battle with Gennadiy Golovkin has only further convinced Sergiy Derevyanchenko that he did enough to win it. Golovkin defeated Derevyanchenko by unanimous decision in their 12-round fight for the then-unclaimed IBF middleweight title, which was stripped from Canelo Alvarez. Judges Frank Lombardi (115-112) and Eric Marlinski (115-112) scored seven rounds apiece for Golovkin, but judge Kevin Morgan gave Golovkin credit for only a one-point win (114-113) on October 5 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Dervey performed better against ggg than any other opponent ggg has faced. Therefore, he has a strong argument for deserving a rematch.

Yes he outperformed any other opponent that Golovkin has faced. I thought Derev won that fight or at least deserved a draw like Golovkin said during the in ring interview. I hope they rematch at some point.
