Comments Thread For: Barry Hearn Still Has Doubts Fury-Wilder Trilogy Will Happen

Barry Hearn, founder of Matchroom, has serious doubts that a Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder trilogy fight will come off as planned. Fury captured the WBC heavyweight title back in February, after stopping Wilder in seven rounds at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. After that defeat, Wilder exercised an immediate rematch clause -forcing a trilogy fight in the matter.

I'm glad someone else noticed that. He's never fighting Fury again.

There's always doubts till something is confirmed. No doubts talks will be going on from every angle about monies involved..

Possibly a good ploy from camp Fury and Camp AJ to release bits of info about 2 mega fights based on both winning.. will it be a case of both pull out to actually fight each other and use the "couldn't agree on deals" excuse?. Suppose we never know what's going on..

Is there any news regarding wilder injury status? Maybe once they know then something will start rolling....

I've referenced this before. If there is an expiration date to this clause and indeed it does pass and the fight doesn't happen then I can imagine Wilder getting all vocal then. But until then silence.

Fury seems pretty set on beating Wilder down again.

Honestly I won't be shocked if it doesn't happen, think about it I doubt there'd be "big" money in it, and Wilder has very, very little chance of winning.

I think the most likely thing is Wilder "gets an injury" which will then get him out of that rematch and he can go in another direction whilst saving face.

If I was in team Wilder I'd definatley 100% take the step aside money, it's free money and the last thing he needs right now is to take another beating for less money than last time.

Eddie didn't think the first fight would happen ffs. These Hearn mofos are turning into a tag team version of Arum with talking about other people's business. Worry about your own sh^t a lil more.
