  • Comments Thread For: Jaron Ennis: I Would Beat Crawford & Spence By Out-Thinking Them

Jaron Ennis realizes that the welterweight champions aren't about to give him a title shot anytime soon. For all his talent and potential, the 22-year-old Ennis is far too much of a high-risk, low-reward proposition for such stars as Manny Pacquiao, Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr. It might even take Ennis becoming a mandatory challenger for a 147-pound championship for him to get his first title shot.

Boots needs a fight with a Top 10 WW ASAP! For now i think the best opponents: David Avanesyan, Sergey Lipinets, Custio Clayton, Josesito Lopez, and Egidijus Kavaliauskas, would all be solid! Even someone like Omar Figueroa Jr. would be a good choice too!

Those are some very solid steps up.

      For me

      1. Omar
      2. Clayton
      3. Lipnets
      4. Kavaliaukas
      5. Lopez
      6. Avanesyan

Did Boots ever sign with PBC? I thought he was planning to awhile back, though I don’t remember ever hearing anything becoming official.

He’s virtually unknown, but one of the best prospects in the 147 division along side Vergil Ortiz imo.

Give him someone in the top 15!

"being this young. I can out-think anybody. I can out-think ‘em, out-smart ‘em"

It's true, you should see the long words my 10 year old comes out with..

Meanwhile In the real world, the money isn't there for popular known fighters.

Pre-Covid they couldn't make Crawford/Porter, Crawford/Spence, Crawford/Manny, Manny/Crawford, Manny Spence, Thurman/ anybody, Porter/Spence II, Mikey Garcia demands 5 mill guaranteed, AB demands 10 mill and the list goes on. Fighters like Danny Garcia were offered career paydays and still refuse to take a risk. On the other side some fighters are willing but want obscene money, money that wasn't enough before Covid19 and in all likelihood will never be there.

Aside from the high price and risk aversion...the PBC doesn't have crazy cash anymore. DAZAN is hemorrhaging money and Ennis is in the middle of a promotional law suit.

In the end, Jaron Ennis has a steep, steep, steep uphill battle and his confidence is great but it's not worth shyt.
