The 2 biggest fights in boxing don’t involve Americans!

    Fury V AJ

    GGG V Canelo 3

Even in UFC the biggest fight is Khabib V McGregor

USA used to dominate the sport. In 2020 they don’t have any of the biggest stars and ‘the fight’ in boxing is between 2 UK dudes. Why did the USA fell off so much?

I know some of you will get all insecure and start counting all your irrelevant belt holders, so I already did it for you. 14 belt holders and 0 stars. It’s that bad that Mike Tyson in his 50s is still a bigger deal than all your guys! What went so wrong?

    Spence-Crawford is bigger than Canelo-GGG 3.

It’s not even bigger in Spence’s hometown.

      Bigger in Nebraska maybe.

Importance wise for the sport, but it’s not bigger nor is it even close in terms of who will watch/“casuals”.

If we’re honest, you could make a very good argument that it wont even be bigger than ANY Canelo fight. That’s not even counting GGG. The fight just seems so unlikely to happen at this point that people have been really put off by it. The fight has taken so long to happen that we’ve almost already forgot Thurman was the number one and THEY were the ones who were needing to prove something.

The gauntlet was a lot more interesting imo when there was the three. Neither guy no longer becomes the number 1 guy by beating the number 1 guy. Sure, injuries happen and Pac happened so that’s no excuse...but we’re now seeing Danny Vs Spence next (I think?) and Bud-Spence no closer to happening and all during the current climate in the world. Momentum has slowed a LOT and it’ll need time for promoting at this point. The other three (aj, fury, canelo) could announce a fight TONIGHT against anyone and have a decent turnout tomorrow. Theyve got a real following in their country and are a big deal.

In all fairness Mike Tyson is still a bigger draw that any other fighter you named. That says something about our sport altogether

Fury vs AJ won’t raise a blip other than UK and some desperate foreign country looking to attract as many tourists as they can and that’s the facts!

Canelo vs Ggg 3 doesn’t move the needle anymore either

The Biggest fight is Pacquiao vs Spence or Mayweather vs Khabib, so go jack off to some Euro movies about Downtown Abbey or To your Tyson Fury posted in your moms basement you fûçking clown!

You are crazy. More champions live in the USA than any other country. GGG lives and trains in California. A great boxer might come from anywhere today. It's a world sport now. Name the country that has more boxing world champs than the USA. You can't because the USA has the most champions but much respect to all boxing champions all over the world. Seems like you are just trying to insult American boxing. Why?

It's not there now, but Canelo v Plant could develop, Canelo-Benavidez. Biggest fights in boxing probably not, but you get half way there with any Canelo fight

Gotta appreciate the raucous Nebraska/Omaha crowds though. Was impressed first time I saw bud fight there. Warren Buffet was in the audience. He might have been wearing a huskers track suit?
