I always said I thought Calzaghe would beat Froch quite easily prime vs prime but I went back and watched Calzaghe vs Robin Reid again and he should have lost that fight he couldn't avoid the right hand all night and someone like Froch with a good chin would pressure him and if he landed those same rights it would be a different story for Joe. I still say it is a 50-50 fight and Calzaghe had a good chin but it still makes me wonder.

All that aside id rather have Carls career over Joes he fought way more fighters in their prime and although he lost a few aside from the Ward fight they were close fights.

As for Calzaghe, he was a great fighter. I pick him to beat Froch but it is true his record is puffed up.

Don’t think it’s a good idea from froch to scrutinise how Calzaghe won his fights though.
Apart from the Abraham fight I thought he laboured through every win he got in the super six tournament, took a lot of leather off pascal and ears boxed off by groves before that stoppage. He’s only ever looked elite level to me against Abraham and Bute.

Got to give him this though, his only two losses are against Andre Ward and a volcano.

The only feasible point he makes really is that lacy was over hyped. Admittedly he was, but with good reason. His record before calzaghe was impressive. But in that one fight, calzaghe showed more class, style and composure than all froch fights put together. Joe more or less ended the career of the next big thing. And im sorry Carl, he would have done the same to you
