Maskaev is a naturalized citizen of the United States....that makes him an American. To say he's an American is no different than any other person who came here looking for a better life. Unless one was born to one of the "nations" of native americans, we Americans are All decended from immigrants. I, for example, am proud of my Irish blood; but I am first and foremost a child of this land...and if Maskaev wants to join our big tribe of multi-ethnicity, I, for one, am honored to have him.

    He is an American.

One of the cool things about Americans, to me, is how we have these dual iden******; but one solidarity. An idea binds us as much as this land does, regardless of what blood flows in our veins. We know who we are genetically as well as spiritually.

        Unique we are.

(this is not a slight to any other nationality, just a little American pride finding it's way to the web. Every person should be proud of their heritage and let no one knock it.)

True, it's great for a person to know who they are & where they're headed, but they should never cut their roots, cause without understanding & accepting your roots you have no stability or true understaning of where you came from & what brought you here, hence no true understanding of where you're headed & who you are. Reach for the sky with both feet firmly planted on the ground.
