Bob Arum is threatening to make Fury franchise champion

Bob Arum: "Nobody's asking the WBC to make Tyson Fury a 'franchise' champion, but if Whyte pursues this idea of fighting Fury before he fought Wilder again and then Joshua, that would be the way I think the WBC would go. The public knows who's the champ."

That's ass, does Fury even have the ability to reject Arum's moves?

He's not threatening that at all. Learn how to read.

If the WBC pushes Fury to fight Whyte instead of Wilder (who he is contractually fighting) then the WBC would be forced to strip Fury or make him Franchise, (since that exists now) Just like the IBF stripped him for signing to fight Klitschko a second time instead of Glazkov

I think the WBC would be all for it

If they are looking at a big sanction fee for the biggest fight in boxing, Joshua versus Fury ,I can’t see why they wouldn’t do it rather than strip Fury and not have a belt involved in a fight.

But in reality I think the WBC will not strip Fury even if he fights Wilder and then Joshua and not his mandatory, they will say that a unification take priority.

Well TBH I don’t think Fury would object to franchise champion status. Cuz when it comes to the wbc mandatory position it really comes down to a purse split or a purse bid that most recently has put the mandatory challenger at a unfair monetary advantage. These challengers have basically figured out that they can purse bid or purse split their way into getting either the belt without even fighting or just a purse split they haven’t earned. Enter the Franchise belt which was created so the champ could actually offer the challenger watever he deems fair. Canelo offered Charlo about 11 million of course Haymon said no so we got a chance to see that Charlo only wanted a shot at Canelo when they could potentially make either 45 percent of the purse or purse bid.

First off, that’s what I said. It is a threat btw, Second off the rematch clause is a monetary contract between fury and wilder and it has absolutely nothing to do with the wbc, the wbc can’t strip him for not rematch IG wilder but they can strip him if he dosnt reach an agreement with Dillyan white. The reason why they’ll have to apply to be franchise champion is because they don’t want the DILLYAN WHYTE situation to interfere with the Wilder rematch or unification with AJ.
The reason why this situation can get ugly is because Hearn will try to take this to purse bid on behalf of Dillyan Whyte because it’s an easy way to get the belt to AJ. Come on man what you stunting on the MVP for?

Exactly and no need for franchise at heavyweight unless they can squeeze more money for franchise fees from Fury and charge Dillyan White for the regular belt. Actually this might Be a double dipping situation that Arum is volunteering to sign up Fury for! Boxing sucks right now

Yeah the guy with the belt or belts is champ, that's how boxing works and that is why Whyte wants his shot.

No wonder Boxing is ****ed on America. Now slimy Bob is trying to ruin it for the UK too? The man just wants his chance,

What am I missing here? Why exactly is it so important for Dillyan to get his shot at Fury? Is it just cuz he’s been waiting? I really don’t think he even has a chance and it seems much more important for Fury to get Wilder and AJ outa the way
