Deontay, your life matters too, so thank Mark Breland once again for throwing in that towel, mang... It looked like you were only a few punches away from a perma-nap. Your head was swole, your ear was leaking, mouth busted open, your eyes had that sickening, glassy look with that blank stare. You a warrior but you was probably on your way to a brain bleed

      TIL DIS DAY.....

Black Americans are still being duped by the ******** party who founded the KKK and who opposed Abe Lincoln in the civil war. I swear, it makes no sense. And fast forward to 2020 when black people want to be upset about police brutality when more white people were both killed overall and unarmed than black people were in 2019 when the police interactions were approx the same! This Floyd case was one bad incident! Its no cause to go crazy for change when there really isn't a problem. If you want to say that a .009% police kill ratio is a problem then it goes for all races, not just blacks. The whole movement is built on fricken lies!

Wake up black America, you are being used!

The fact that millions of black people were arrested last year and only 9 of them were killed while unarmed proves that this is being taken seriously. Furthermore, more unarmed whites were killed by police than blacks! This is a worthless protest

Clearly you are white, and don't understand and have no black friends that can help you understand this is a typical statement from racist white person.

its not about white lives who have reaped the benefits in the past.

if not constructive why do you just STFU

Watched a 2 part documentary on Mohammed Ali the other day called 'Mohammed Ali: What's my name?'

Not only did it feature footage I'd never seen before (action from when he won gold in Rome); it also featured lots of interviews and poems where he addressed racism.

Some of the points he illustrated in these interviews and poems were genuinely inspired but now seem lost which is such a shame. He had a perfect platform and even injected a bit of humor from time to time.

Personally I think he should have retired straight after the Foreman fight (he was never the same after the Frazier trilogy for me) and gone full time into his vocation of tackling racism.

It's a sad fact that even after all these years no athlete has even come close to the impact Ali made. I wholeheartedly recommend that documentary.

The history of racism is shocking. But it will NEVER go away as long as people look at another race and notice the color. It just can't and it just won't. Think about that. The ideal, if we think about it would be that a person's color would not even be noticed. Is that even possible? I don't know, but it is probably the ideal.

By drawing attention to your own color whatever color we are moving further away from that ideal.

The solution is education. We have come some way along the road. But we are only in round 6 of a 15 round fight. We need to renew our efforts and travel further and faster down that road and the way to do that is to punish transgressors and ENABLERS rapidly and educating people in school and in the community for as long as it takes.

The younger generation don't understand that. They think of Michael Jordan or Federer but ALI was on another level.

He would go on the top British talk show at the time (Parkinson) and make the host crack up, but all the time preaching his message. At that time (early/mid seventies) racism was virulent in Britain (more so than now) and yet he was loved by many British people - probably the first black person that many white people found a place in their heart for.

I completely agree, there needs to be a universal acknowledgement and understanding that we all belong to one race - the human race.

And that by causing further divisions and hate we only hurt ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I think cultural diversity should be embraced and we all have our own unique identity; but this shouldn't be used as a means to create division as we all belong to something so much bigger.

I've often thought that the 'powers that be' prefer it this way. After all a divided kingdom will never stand and as such the divisions in society today make us so much easier to control. Think about it, racism is so deep rooted into almost every institution, law enforcement, even education.

If we were to miraculously come together as one that would surely be bad news for the establishment. Whatever the trap may be that is set before us, whether it be drugs, poverty, debt through finance it's all about being controlled.

And analysing the different colours of skin that fall into these traps is about as useful as analysing the different types of mice that fall for mouse traps.

The real sad aspect is that racism is actually pro-actively encouraged as a means to cause division and weakness and we take the bait time and time again when we all belong to the same, single human race.
