Hello recently in the NSB forum we’ve been debating wether Sergio Martinez ducked ggg and interestingly around the same time “someone” on Twitter mentioned that Sergio Martinez criminally ducked Golovkin.
Given how ggg has been in a similar situation at the end of his career as Sergio Martinez was because he chose not to fight Charlo who was his mandatory, not fight Andrade who he can easily negotiate with and the way he chose to be stripped of the IBF with Dereyvchenko because that was hi risk low reward in between the 2nd Canelo showdown. Even the way they played hardball by trying to get the Canelo 1 fight to go to purse bid instead just accept a more reasonable negotiation. In my eyes these things are a clear indication that if GGG was in Sergio Martinez’s shoes he wouldnt have even considered that fight and not to mention if you go by the timeline on Box rec you will see that GGG was never even the WBA super champion till a month after Cotto retired Sergio Martinez. I believe ggg was mentioned one time to Lou dibella and they said they had zero interest in Golovkin but that was in between his 2 last fights and we all know he was shot by then looking for a retirement. Was he supposed to fight ggg instead of Cotto? I’m just saying man why do we need to pretend Sergio ducked ggg? At this point even the hard core ggg fans don’t consider it a duck in any way. Thanks if you respond
