Edwin Valero was a great boxing talent who, with the proper mindset, could have become one of the greatest pound-for-pound pugilists in the history of the sport.

Regrettably, Edwin Valero instead was a repugnant individual who descended into a cold-blooded killer.
Valero is a fascinating character. The motorbike accident he had as a teenager possibly had an impact on his behaviour as he wasn't wearing a helmet and probably had a brain injury as a result.

They should make an English language film about his life. They made a film in Venezuela called El Inca that was the first Venezuelan film to be banned in the cinemas.

Hey man I respect your opinion, but do a turn next time. Just think of all the people affected by George Floyd and the covid 19. It's easy to hate, harder to love, but just remember that 9 count and that amount of minutes before you judge somebody.

WTF are you talking about? I was making a joke and you turn this into an episode of Oprah Winfrey?

I'd say quite a few have some form of mental illness, you have to be a little half-c o c k e d to want to fight for a living in the first place. Many of them end up brain damaged along the way which leads some forms of mental impairment.

Aside from all the ones mentioned already I would add:

              Vinny Pazienza
              George Foreman
              Ricardo Mayorga
              Johnny Tapia
              Paulie Spadafora
              Iran Barkley
              Roger Mayweather
              Rocky Graziano
              Tyson Fury

Some of these guys are just criminals? Throw in punches to the head and drugs and will be a lot of casualties. Golota must be somewhat unhinged. Hatton and Calzaghe hit the Coke and had severe depression. There are some lesser known British fighters. Sykes. Cleverly.

Foreman has always been a strange dude. After his loss to Jimmy Young he hallucinated, ran out of the dressing room naked screaming he saw Jesus. Some dismiss it as dehydration or heat exhaustion, but I've never seen anyone do that from dehydration. He also just has a way about him when you listen to him, he's not the cuddly teddy bear you think he is.

Graziano was a violent sociopath in his youth. Came from an abusive, alcoholic father who forced him to fight other kids when was a child so he and his friends could place bets. Read his book, watch the movie, bring up some of his interviews if you can. Doesn't mean he didn't have any cognitive abilities, but he had some issues to say the least.
