    Rewatching Mayweather-Castillo I. RBR scoring.

    Rd 1 10-9 Mayweather
    Rd 2 20-18
    Rd 3 29-28
    Rd 4 39-37
    Rd 5 49-46
    Rd 6 58-56
    Rd 7 67-66
    Rd 8 76-75 -1 pt to JLC
    Rd 9 86-84
    Rd 10 95-93 -1 pt to Floyd
    Rd 11 105-102
    Rd 12 114-112

    Final score 114-112 to Mayweather.

Very close fight with several swing rounds, 3, 4 and 10 all could have went either way IMO. I think you can make a plausible argument for either guy winning, and this is certainly the closest Mayweather has ever come to losing.

    A couple of interesting points.

-The HBO team say that Mayweather abnormally lacked focus during the build up to the fight. Perhaps he took his eye off the ball for once.

-Vic Drakulich did a horrendous job as the referee, his point deductions were completely inconsistent. At one point he tells the fighters to “calm down” during a fight. Merchant rightfully let’s him have it for that comment.

-Mayweather really under-utilised his jab, he suggests in the post fight interview he hurt his left shoulder which may explain why. He also switched to southpaw several times which seemed strange.

-HBO cards: Lederman 115-111 Castillo, Merchant 114-112 Castillo.

I'm out and about at the minute, but I rewatched it not long ago and had Flod winning by a round or possibly the draw. Worth having a look at the Boxstat punch count though, done fron slo-mo. Sharply different from the compubox count and very much more in Floyd's favour.

            Ill rewatch later.

But question, what are other fights that floyd switched southpaw often? Any?

Interesting you bring that up, cause the HBO stats actually had Castillo as the slightly more accurate fighter which based solely off the eye test seemed off to me. Castillo was certainly more active but Mayweather seemed more accurate.

I completely forgot he did it, going off the dome, I can never remember him doing before/again.

Roger actually tells him to stop doing it as well.
