Better he move up and position himself to fight for the vacant belts before the other guys move up. Ramirez and Taylor will be leaving 140 soon.

So far, against his “best” opponents, he goes the distance. Burgos, Santiago and Ndongeni. Going the distance in boxing isn’t particularly bad at all. But this is 135lbs, where he has the biggest size advantage he will ever have. Usually, this is where boxers rack up their KO’s. Also Burgos, Santiago and Ndongeni are his best opponents, but are mediocre or below in general.
He claims he will move up soon, his “power” might not carry to 140-147. The fighters will be bigger and be able to take his punches better than the mediocre 135 fighters he has fought.
In order to be a force at 140+, he will need all the skill he has, and then some, to win fights vs top fighters, because he won’t be scaring anyone with his featherfists. His KO rate right now is 62%, in his first weight class, and he hasn’t even fought anyone yet.Comment

But if he's draining himself to make 135, then his power will increase as he moves up as opposed to decreasing, especially if the story is true about him fainting on his way to the weigh in during the Ndongeni fight. So far, against his “best” opponents, he goes the distance. Every single fighter drains themselves to make their very first weight at some point.
The guy is a 5’9” Lightweight who probably rehydrates at least 10lbs, and I can even see him being 147-150lbs on fight night. He is a weight bully and weight bullies usually rack up KO’es if they have some power to go with that weight.
Devin Haney doesn’t have much power and it will be very noticeable I think when he moves up to 147. Right now at 135-140, there aren’t a lot of good fighters there. But still I don’t see him ever turning into a puncher as he moves up. I think 135 is the best we will see from him power wise.Comment

Based on size haney garcia and stevenson all going up to 147 and possible 154 max davis because of bulky build and making that weight with that frame would have to eventually move to 140 147 unless retire . these divisions from 135-147 are going to be interesting over the coming yrsComment

I mean, looking at 154 right now that seems like a stretch. Just depends how he develops. I’d say 147 would be max.Comment

I hear you, but there are also styles to consider.Every single fighter drains themselves to make their very first weight at some point.

For example, Jermell Charlo had a lower KO ratio in his earlier days, but his KO ratio actually increased as he fought tougher opposition.
The reason? The changed from a trainer who teaches the slick urban defensive style to a trainer who teaches and explosive offensive style and his KO percentage increased. Of course, he also got his man strength as he came of age.
Haney hasn't gotten his man strength yet and if he introduces a more offensive, more explosive style later on, we could actually see his KO percentage increase.Comment
