Comments Thread For: Haney: I'll Stay At 135 For Maybe Another Year; Eventually See Myself At 154

Devin Haney drained his body so badly before one of his lightweight fights last year that he fainted while walking to the weigh-in. According to Haney, plenty of people witnessed this alarming episode prior to his fight against Xolisani Ndongeni in January 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana. That scary incident didn't impact the skillful Haney's performance, as he easily out-boxed the previously unbeaten South African and won their 10-round bout by huge margins on all three scorecards.

If you can't get Loma, Tank, or Kingry @ 135 in 2020 (March 2021 at the latest) then move on up! Try to get the winner of Prograis vs. Hooker! Teofimo Lopez will be available at 140 in 2021 too!

I would like to see him fight the winner between Lomachenko and Lopez. That would be one Hell of a fight. I don't want to see him fight Gervonta Davis because he is too little. He is midget. Haney just might hurt him.

I think Haney could eventually compete at 160 and be successful. His skill set should be fully developed by then and the way the kid is going he may be a force to reckon with as he moves up

Loma and Gervonte are about the same size, Loma's lighter the fight night with shorter reach

Yeah he has a bigger frame than Floyd so he might be outsized at 160 like Floyd was at 154, but as we see time and again skills pay the bills

Let's actually see him beat somebody worth a crap, before we talk about how good he will be at higher weights.
