Victor Ortiz training with Freddie Roach

Ortiz is now training with Freddie Roach. Too late for this move to be honest, but if Roach can apply a Pacquiao style to Ortiz, then there’s a good chance that he can beat someone like Thurman in his next fight. I always wondered why they never worked together since Ortiz seems like the type of fighter that Roach works well with.

Yeah it's too late for this kid in my opinion. He isn't all there mentally either. But if Roach can train a tree it will be another feat you can add to his legacy as a trainer

I was a huge ortiz fan up until he quit against berto in the rematch. He's done. He'll probably beat a few bums (assuming he doesnt quit) then get a big or decent fight then quit again

I would like to see him rematch Devon Alexander though as they robbed Alexander of that win. Both are past it, so it may make for an interesting fight

I won't say it's too late but man Floyd ruined this guy's career. The Mayweather curse. Ortiz was already showing he folds under pressure previously to that fight as well. He's like the kid that had potential, had the machine pushing behind him, and just couldn't handle how tough the actual job was and gave up. And every time he gave up people kept looking at his potential rather than what he actually was standing in front of them at the moment: a quitter.
