Let me let you in a secret, the live gates for majority of the fights stateside are crap. Most under 100-200k.Not having Live gate money makes it very hard to make decent fights. Only a few fighters are doing consistent million dollar gates, and only a select few do over two million gates. We should still be able to get most of the fights.Comment

Right. But not the big fights. And if the fighters are not being huge purses 100-200k is a big loss to the promotion plus no one will pay to watch these on TvLet me let you in a secret, the live gates for majority of the fights stateside are crap. Most under 100-200k.

You have fighters making seven figures doing under 200k in gate revenue. I'm not saying it's not a loss not having gate revenue, but majority of these fighters were not doing big gates. Network money is what all these promotors were mainly relying on.Comment

So how much exactly do they earn from ticket sales. How much is paid to the owner of the stadium, the employees of which have to get paid also like sweepers, washroom cleaners, escorts, maintenance workers, you name it.
Why is it that when they declare the number of tickets sold it's as if the gross would all be pocketed by the promoter?Last edited by maguirre; 05-29-2020, 05:28 PM.Comment

It's not just ticket sales. I would wager that advertisers aren't paying as much right now for commercials.Comment
