  • Comments Thread For: Frampton: Santa Cruz Has To Take Sole Responsibility For Third Fight Not Happening

Carl Frampton always wanted a rubber match with Leo Santa Cruz. The former WBA featherweight champion never sensed the feeling was mutual. That's why Frampton blames Santa Cruz for the fact that their third fight hasn't happened.

Santa Cruz career is a joke and not respected by fighters or fans he has taken 1 risk in his whole career and he lost. Any man would not make a disrespect his father and not do not do nothing is a coward and joke. Gary Russell owns him and he will not fight Davis

        Passed due
Plus Frampton is pretty much on the decline

Wasn't even close. No need for a 3rd fight and Frampton has looked way worse

            You make zero sense?

And if Tank makes 130 we got a fight. Ill drop money on Leo if Tank weight drains himself that bad...

Leo said in the ring after the rematch that he was a man of his words and if Frampton gave him the rematch he'd give him a rubber. That hasn't materialised in 3 years!

Granted Frampton lost to Warrington but a 2nd win over Frampton would be Leo's 2nd/3rd best win of his career alongside Abner Mares 1.

Leo has left plenty food on the table in his career - at 122 he could have fought Rigo, Frampton & Quigg and at 126 Russell Jr, Selby, Warrington. A fight with Donaire would have been a terrific watch too.

Didn’t he say he’d travel to Belfast?

Leo hasn’t took one risk since the Frampton rematch. The loss to Frampton scared him or his handlers IMO.

Following the Frampton fight he’s fought Avalos, a rematch with Mares (when the first fight was already conclusive), Rivera and Flores.

Let’s see if this LSC-Tank fight actually comes off.

Was once a fan of LSC but now I root for whomever his opponent is in the ring. The only times he challenged himself in opposition was the first Mares fight and the two fights with Frampton. After that he's been content with fighting marginal competition (including a Mares on the decline).

Tank is another one that I've soured on for many of the same reasons.
