    people slam ward for "inactivity"

and say he could have done more...despite the fact that he has a HOF resume and is a two division, unbeate, p4p champ

yet we have a 32 year old wbo champ who fought once in 2014...once in 2015..once in 2016...and once in 2018...and people are out here complaining about how he cant get fights.....did i mention this guy pulled out of what would have been the biggest fight of his career, to this day, on like 3 weeks notice against jermell charlo?

my guess is since that guy is rolling with hearn and DAZN now he gets a pass...and guys across the street are clearly ducking him and its not his fault he cant get big MW fights within his own network...lol....its all about who you are rolling with...if he was somewhere else hed be getting slammed left and right....in fact i bet if we look back before he got with hearn and DAZN he was getting slammed....

so sad...he doesnt get 1/8 of the hate that ward still gets to this day even in retirement....

Even though I agree with you mostly,I DO think Ward is an example of someone who could've easily kept fighting & become higher up on the list of atgs but he chose a terrible time to retire considering that both kov fights left a sour taste in most ppls mouths & I still say Kov looked worse in rematch to the one Canelo faced. (Even though I don't see it as a controversial win considering kov basically quit & was cooked)

I am a big Ward fan straight up,but he could've been remembered as 5x greater had he went on a run at lhw post Kovalev, hes already a atg & will be set for life based off being among only undefeated champs to retire undefeated, but he could've been in the conversation for much greater had he stuck around a few more yrs imho.

(Then again I'm someone who rates experience/risk over eggshell 0)

i dont fault ward for retiring when he did...if anything i fault him for the inactivity before that...i know he had promoter beef/injuries which just kinda happen...he had his own belief/principles with the promoter thing.....rather unfortunate

as far as retirement.....im sorry....i know people want ward to lose and want him fighting beterbiev and bivol or whatever.....but lets face...beterbiev was a nobody back when ward retired...and he just fought in front of 4k people in his biggest fight to date

ward was getting up for less than what he made in the kovalev fights...and nobody was going to pay him that, or more, to fight beterbiev or bivol....they would probably be reluctant right now to pay him that much....once you reach a certain level or pay grade its hard to get out of bed for less.....there just werent the big fights for ward out there

Ward's a guy that in 20-30 years will be more known for his broadcasting or managerial career than boxing.

Doesn't he get 1/8th of the hate because Ward was at least 8 times more known?
I dont read every forum post, but I rarely see anyone defending Andrade for his lack of opposition. It is legitimate to state though that he would have fought Saunders by now, if Saunders didn't test positive.

Russell Jr. for example fights once a year since 2015 and only really fights higher ranked fighters when they become his mandatories (Diaz and Nyambayar) and he also gets way less hate than Ward by just being far less known than Ward.
