Comments Thread For: Chisora: I'll Travel To Russia, Help Povetkin Take Down Whyte!

Derek Chisora is ready to help former WBA champion Alexander Povetkin take down Dillian Whyte. Povetkin and Whyte were scheduled to collide this month, but their fight was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. There is a tentative date in July, which is likely not going to happen as planned.

Jesus there's very little optimism of fights going ahead. I think at this point if the UFC can put on shows right now, so can boxing promoters. It's time to get the show back on the road. Hell a June date would've been fine. **** waiting til July. If Chisora is willing to travel to help in a training camp then other fights have no excuses. Corona will spread regardless of inaction, it's likely it can spread through our plumbing so there's a probability a lot of people have been exposed, not that it'll be harming any supreme athletes like professional boxers are.

I agree with this it's a joke to keep the fans waiting. There are fighters willing to fight without the crowd so what are we waiting on. The ufc is doing shows left and right already. Boxing promoters are dropping the ball on this.

This is a HORRIBLY written article by BoxingScene, but what else is new?

In any case, this fight will happen in July and will be one of the fights from Hearn's backyard. Already agreed to by both guys. I suspect very little issues in actually getting the fights made.

Why waste time travelling to Russia... Povetkin only has to watch Chisoras 2 fights to see how not to fight Whyte..

Well at least they're going to be scheduled and I have something to look forward to. I love MMA but boxing is just the best entertainment for me. This better happen with no delays.

They really are, the fans are starving and the eyeballs are there to be hoovered up but they totally dropped the ball as you aptly stated.

I thought Chisora did a pretty good job, if he had just kept that kept his right hand guard up...but no.

He had every opportunity to win that first fight. But like you say....

Chisora went to Russia already when he was training with Povetkin for the Whyte rematch .People forget Chisora sought out Povetkin before . Now it’ll be Povetkin trying his hand .
