The reality is no matter the danger present with a job you aren't getting paid more than the money you bring in. And with the realities as they are right now with coronavirus nearly everyone in boxing will be taking a pay cut I'd imagine.

You're right in what you're saying but maybe I should have added more to what I meant by it.

They generate big money through what they do so with the risks for them they should get the bigger rewards for it and the promoters get a smaller share..

On a wider scale, we shouldn't be paying inflated prices for PPV etc to start with which would then possibly reflect more on a boxers purse and look more sensible.

Maybe this virus throws a reality check to all involved, in all sports and forces prices etc down..

How much are promoters even taking home that makes you think the cut should be more in favor of boxers?

I hear boxer purses & can do some math for suspected expenses & taxes, but lil is spoken about the promoters income outside of Don King court cases type disclosures.

I've always heard the 80/20 rule is pretty much the standard or in the range of standard in boxing where a boxer gets 80% & the promoter 20%. That sounds pretty fair when you consider the boxer is taking the physical risk & is the real draw & promoters do take a financial risk & could lose money on a event despite putting in work for weeks or months.

The fighters deserve it. They put their lives on the line! How many pro fights has Eddie Hearn had? I like him but he’s flat out wrong for saying this.
