He doesn't fight one of the many guys calling him out. He has so many people who want to fight him and show that he aint the most feared man in boxing. I think he will end up in some crappy fight on his December date (Take the Winky fight Please biggest pay day of your career Marg.). I also think its funny how Arum can call people out for his Top Rank set date but as soon as that date goes away and people call him out for their HBO set dates he declines or pulls his previous offer off the table. Coincidence I think not Arum is a slime ball just like Don King.

the guys who are calling him out are asking to get the money he offered floyd mayweather, not offering HIM big money to get in the ring. So it is a totally different situation.

Williams is like "i'll fight him for 4 million" and rivera will do it for a million, well no **** it would be way more than they've ever made before but in terms of a total purse those fights would only generate enough to pay margarito on the hundred thousands. and arum is not offering the money to take take on the same level competition, he's doing it so he can step up in class

and winky wants to fight at a catch weight above 154 and have golden boy handle all the promotions leaving arum out of the loop. do u really think arum is going to risk him losing at a weight class he has never been tested at (above 154) and not make any money of off his step up fight before he could lose him? in short, NO

Oscar De La Hoya: Oh, absolutely! I mean, right now, the welterweight division is very, very interesting. You know, it’s funny because I’ve been hearing Top Rank say how (WBO Welterweight titlist Antonio) Margarito is ‘The Most Feared Fighter On The Planet Today.’ That’s baloney! How can he be the most feared fighter on the world today when there’s tons of fighters that are lined up to fight him that wanna fight him? For instance, we have Winky Wright, who obviously challenged him, not at 158 the way they’re saying, but at 154! Why can’t he (Margarito) go up to 154? He’s called out Cory Spinks and he’s called out other fighters who’ll fight at 154. It would be a fight at 154. We also have Kassim Ouma, who, obviously, is going back down to 147 after this fight with Sechew Powell this weekend, which he is dying to fight him (Margarito). Of course, we have Ishe Smith, who came out of The Contender, who is a great talent. He’s also willing to fight him, anytime, any day, anywhere. So there’s tons of challenges out there for him and it’s a matter of making these fights. One thing that I disagree with is that they keep on calling out (Floyd) Mayweather. Well, I have to admit, who has he fought to deserve a shot at Mayweather?

what is so hard to understand about arum being left out of the promotional aspect after all he has done to promote margarito? would you put in so much work for a fighter then let winky promotiona and golden boy take all you profit? NO.

also margarito wants to stay at 147 cuz he makes the weight comfortably and has has more advantages there, everyone else in boxing does it and gets good fights, why should he be any different. if Ouma comes down after he struggles to make 154 in his last fight im sure margarito would face him but lets be real here, he had trouble making weight and said he would only make 147 for mayweather, so what he deserves his own division lke morales wants? no, if he went to 147 they could make this fight but e won't even try. and Ishe smith? come on margarito will whip his ass,i hope he does get int here cuz he is a ****en loud mouth who lost to Sergio pillow fist mora and gassed out in that terrible 5 round war. come on, when he gets past the always tough Gilbert Venegas (9-3-2, coming of 2 straight losses) and then beats a welterweight contender ranked somewhere in the top 100, then maybe he can ask for a fight versus one of the champions.

I dont really care about ishe smith. He has no reason not to fight Ouma if Ouma says he can make 147 and Golden boy is offering the fight then its thier for Top Rank to take. Marg has called out several people at 154 so dont give me that bull**** about how he is comfortable at 147. I havent seen jack about Top Rank being left out of anything in a wright vs Marg match up. If Arum wants everything to be on Top Rank PVPs then guess what Marg wont be fighting any HBO fighters ever including Mayweather which I believe was one of the reasons Mayweather didnt even take that offer seriously. Margs promoter is a joke and so are his fans(especially on this site). Marg is a good fighter but Arum is bull****ting Marg to the top of the game the proof is in the pudding. I feel bad for Antonio not his fans (especially on this site) though they are all out of thier minds and brainwashed by Bob Arums bull****.

winky clearly offered arum 1.5 million for the services of margarito, not for the fight.this means they would get to handle all the promotional work and hence all the profits. this would cap what arum can make in this fight at whatever he doesn't give margarito,so no more han 750,000 or so. he's not going to fight ouma under the same circumstances either, it'sjust ****** business for him, and margarito is the one who suffers becaue of it. and he can promote a fight and it still be on hbo, are you kidding me? he does that all the time, it's only when he get no date that he is forced to make his own ppv.

I still haven't seen anything that says they are leaving Top rank out of the promotion of the fight. Infact Top Rank declined saying that Margarito is not a Middleweight. I nor you know the full details of that deal and even if it just 1.5M going to Top Rank and Margarito I still dont see the problem. Marg would still make the most money he has ever made in his career and he would get a big fight. What's the issue?

that is exactly why bob arum said he turned it down, because it was for his service and they were just playing games and new he wouldn't accept that. and Margarito would have to split the 1.5 million with arum because it was for his services and not solely his purse for the fight. the issue is that arum would not make much of a fight that is the most risky for margarito, and margarito wouldn't make much either in that split, and he'd move up almost 2 weight classes when he still make 147 without a problem.

For Arum is better to have two good fighter and build up the hype so he could make money from it.

Margarito have power but techincailly he is not the elite standard as people think he is and his record is not that good, so to make him look good in front of the people he would have to build up the hype, both three Arum, Margarito and Mayweather are winniners but he fought someone from other promotional fighter he could possibly loss ( Margarito) and all Arum hype that he build up and money is all gone so the other promotional company hold a better name and Arum is left with Mayweather only.

I bet Marharito in his next fight is going to KO his hand pick opponent in the first couple of rounds so he looks good and that is how the hype was buildup after he KOed Gomez in the first round.
