It's always these ****s who say this until it's them in the position to have to pay people. You either change the structure of the system or STFU. Don't just be a simpleton and say: "Pay the fighters more!" That's just virtue signaling and cowardly.

That’s why the boxers should be their own promoters. The networks and managers should push the matchmaking and negotiating, the fighters promote the fights when signed with their own companies. Eliminate the middle men like Arum, Hearn, and Dlh and keep more of your money

There's only a relatively small number of fighters that networks are going to pay for. Under CV19 restrictions, there's going to a LOT of extra costs involved in putting shows on. This all.has to be paid for. Lack of a gate still means less money going into the pot. If fighters think purses aren't going to go down they're kidding themselves; and if they won't fight for less they ain't gonna get much work!

Of Course! Oscar and Mayweather yeah they started off with Arum and Arum paid them good money I'm sure BUT both made a lot more Promoting themselves. Now unfortunately for most of these fighters they just don't have what Oscar and Mayweather had to promoter themselves.

Also too, HBO Boxing was huge for the sport of boxing and they're greatly missed. I can admit I was wrong about "HBO Won't Be Missed" and I felt that way mostly because of Lampley and his blatant Bias. However, HBO is greatly missed and this is one of the main reasons why the sport is struggling to build up new Stars. HBO was great at building up new Stars in the Sport. ESPN, PBC and DAZN will never be as good as HBO was EVER!

How do you define “Arum paid them good money”?
Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Mikey Garcia, Rigondeux, Gamboa etc all fought tooth and nail to get out of their slave contracts with Arum.
If they were being paid “good money”, why did they risk their careers to get away from Arum? Mikey Garcia and Gamboa lost a couple of years of their careers because of Arum.
Heck! Even Pacquiao tried to get out and sign with Golden Boy but Arum threatened a lawsuit and he went back.

The problem is that in boxing you need a promoter and a manager/lawyer and you need them to be separate. The manager/lawyer is taking 10% of the top and then the promoter is milking even more. Fighters can't handle their own contracts and fighters can't put on fights obviously. People are complaining about boxing but having multiple promoters has made boxers able to be paid way more than UFC fighters who bring in more money than them. Look at Broner's contracts for example. The guy made double what UFC fighters bring in who put up 200K and better PPV events for a regular Showtime fight.
