Comments Thread For: Canelo's 2020 Outlook Includes Fights In Sept. & Dec. With GGG, Plant, Benavidez, Saunders

Canelo Alvarez will have some catching up to do on the calendar as soon as coronavirus clears away. Boxing's biggest breadwinner wants to return to the ring as soon as September, presumably for Mexican Independence Day weekend, and again in December, according to his coach and lifelong confidant Eddy Reynoso.

I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo fight BJS or Plant but I'd rather see him fight Bivol or Benavidez because I think they're much more of a threat to him

Good match ups, BJS sept and GGG december are good fights but I believe he will stop saunders late on, canelos defensive offence is underated, it will show in the saunders fight, saunders will win the first 4 maybe 5 rounds before canelo gets to work and does the damage late on, canelo wont lose a decision regardless but i doubt it will be needed, GGG has had too many wars, 2 canelo fights, jacobs, derev, age... canelo will be too young, too fresh for G this time around, will be a convincing victory... can he cause a ref stoppage maybe? Either way if it goes the full 12 canelo aint losing the decision. Benavidez, calum smith, plant will be 2021.

Paying Canelo right now must suck for DAZN

All of those sound good but I prefer for Benavidez and Canelo clean out the divisions before meeting.

Things are moving more closer in boxing.

Good line up of opponents, business on.

Canelo would beat all of them. He's too damn strong, sharp and skilful. Only a 29-30 y/o version of GGG would beat him. Canelo would make a big statement if he'd clean out the whole smw division (Callum, BJS, Benavidez and Plant) but it's very hard b/c of boxing politics and the money.

If all things go well I think Canelo vs BJS and then GGG III are the more realistically fights to happen for Canelo. I'd have Canelo beating both clealry.
