Good, his spirit is still whole. No harm in a young man feeling his oats. Just don't get all beside his self, like the little prince, Dogboe. All heaven sent and royal blood on us.

Except that Lopez is actually from Brooklyn, so he is, in fact, American. Honduras, in 2020, still has no world champions.

America is a continent smart guy. Chino Maidana and Canelo are both “American”.

As for because he was born here he stops being of Honduran descent when both parents are Honduran? When he repped Honduras in the olympics? Especially when he’s proud of being Honduran and repped To the fullest?

No offense brother but that’s less smart than your American comment.

Uh, ok, smarter guy. Ask Chino and Canelo about their respective nationalities. See if either of them says they are proud "Americans." Also, ask Floyd Mayweather or Bernard Hopkins if they are "United Statesean."

Secondly, I'm not talking about Lopez' heritage. I get that his FAMILY is from Honduras and that he is proud of his heritage, HOWEVER, he is rightly regarded as an American boxing champion because he was BORN and RAISED in the USA.

Lastly, Lopez might be proud of his Honduran roots, but the only reason he competed in the Olympics for Honduras was because he didn't make Team USA. The guy was devastated that he couldn't fight for his real country, but Honduras offers dual citizenship so he took that route as his only remaining option to go to the Olympics. Hondurans never really talked about him back then though, because he got bounced in the very first round in Rio. Google that if you doubt it, smarty pants.

Here's the kicker, Lopez might be proud of his Honduran roots, but the only reason he competed in the Olympics for Honduras was because he didn't make Team USA. All that typing yet he was able to fight in the olympics as a Honduran?

Haha, you read every word. That's why you have nothing else to say.

You're missing my point. Again, I am not dismissing a man's pride in his heritage. All of our families came from somewhere else, at some point. Oscar and Vargas both have pride in their Mexican heritage; however, neither is regarded as a Mexican boxing champion, and rightfully so. As I said in my first post, Honduras remains without a boxing world champion.
