Since Wilder lost, his fans have been calling this HW era a weak one

Yea you are spot on ,Nostalgia is hell of a drugThis is what it's all about. Don't try to convince me that boxing is the only sport that has regressed in quality over time and the division was coincidentally at its best when Americans had a monopoly on it.
Marciano's the best heavyweight ever as far as I'm concerned. But I wouldn't delude myself into thinking he would beat today's guys.Comment

So is it not a weak era? I mean, a guy you just labeled a bum, rose to relative prominence. I get the about face of fan boys you’re pointing to, but were they wrong before, or are they wrong now? Before Wilder was battered and ragdolled by Fury, his fans and the US media called him the biggest puncher in history and claimed he has a chance against all the ATGs. Some were even going as far as saying he'll KO Ali. And they claimed this era is one of the best HW eras.
But since the bubble got busted and he was shown as the bum with exaggerated power who ducked every decent boxer, they have started claiming this era of HW is a week one. LMAOO. You can't make this ****.Comment

48 y/o Foreman didn't fight anyone but bums when he came back and became a champion in the 90s after beating Moorer. Does that mean the 90s was also a weak era?
Wilder was protected and if he hadn't been protected, he would've been knocked out years ago. The man fought nothing but bums.Comment

I've literally never seen anyone call this a great heavyweight era. Even when talking of Joshua, Fury, and Wilder all together the consensus has been it's another weak era with a couple decent fighters. I've seen people say it's interesting now thoughComment

Would you call the 90s when Holmes and Foreman were in their 40s and still became champions a great era?
People had the same sentiments about the 90s and didn't appreciate it until the Wlad and Vitali era. And it's the same with this era and the next 5-10 will solidify it.
I just have a problem with idiots who call it a weak era because people they like aren't dominating.Comment

Fair enough, but Ortiz was highly rated, as was stiverne. Not an incredibly deep era, wouldn’t you say?48 y/o Foreman didn't fight anyone but bums when he came back and became a champion in the 90s after beating Moorer. Does that mean the 90s was also a weak era?
