Comments Thread For: Warrington Expects Xu Can Clash To Happen, Won't Avoid Galahad

IBF featherweight champion Josh Warrington indicates that he's negotiating the final aspects of a unification with WBA champion Xu Can. They were close to announcing their fight a few weeks ago, before the sport was disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Doe's anyone remember the reason/excuse the WBA had for having a regular & super champion? Well it was that if there champion unified then he would become super champion giving the oppertunity for someone else to fight for the regular belt. Well if that's the case then doe's Leo Santa Cruz become the super duper champion, while the Warrington/Can Xu winner becomes super champion & new regular & interim contest's are made thus banking more sanctioning fees for them. It's not actually that long ago that Mendoza made a statement with the effect that they were reducing all of this B/S, but here we go again!!!.........

The WBA regular champion is bullshit. This isn't a real unification.

Galahad wouldn't get the go ahead to fight any time soon.

All that hugging he's bound to have caught summat...

As for Josh, he needs a big fight and quick imo. If he can get past Xu then he has to go for the cream before it's too late. Hes a little bulldog but he needs to learn to finish fights. Whether he has the power to do it I've not been convinced yet...

The best fight I see on the horizon is the fight with Xu Can! Along with Berchelt vs Valdez those two bouts are going to be great!! Like Warrington but my money is on the Chinese "Monster"!

Xu Can threw over 1,500 punches in his fight with then unbeaten Manny Robles and fought a war with Jesus Rojas that he won impressively. He is clearly one of the best in the division and hasnt lost in 5 years. He is going to be very difficult for anyone to beat. I think he beats Warrington too.

Don't mind Josh v Xu Can but definitely would prefer Josh v Shakur.

Please God not Josh v Galahad 2. Apart from how dull it would be, Galahad is ridiculously fortunate to be back as a contender after being caught juicing . Like fatboy Jarrell he has in no way served his sentence!

The Chinese Can fight isn't ideal but anything is better than the Galahad rematch. Not only is Galahad boring and dirty but he's also a proven cheater. How he rose back into position for another title shot against Warrington is beyond me. I know Warrington has a dedicated fan base but will they show up in big numbers for this matchup? Given the lockdown situation it's a much easier fight to put off, with travel restrictions being a factor for the Can fight.

Maybe it will take a big win for more to belive in Can. He throws and throws and pressures all fight long. He'll ware you down while eating you sunday punch. Continuously all while smiling after you sting him. The kid looks like he really enjoys himself in the ring. Same feel I got when watching the great Johnny Tapia. Not style but just the enjoyment of the competition.
