Comments Thread For: Bob Arum: Working With George Foreman Can Only Help Deontay Wilder

Bob Arum isn't the least bit surprised George Foreman reached out to Deontay Wilder after Tyson Fury defeated Wilder in their heavyweight championship rematch. Arum remembers how tough it was for Foreman after Muhammad Ali knocked him out in the eighth round of "The Rumble In the Jungle." The previously unbeaten knockout artist was a 4-1 favorite to beat Ali in Zaire.

Can do far worse than take advice from George...

If all else fails, he can show him how to make money from selling grills..

Deontay needs to come in light in shape ready to bounce ok his toes for 12 rounds and make the jab his main weapon... that’s his best shot

Very underrated jab Wilder has though. He has a very good jab but declines to truly utilize it. It's odd really as it would make his boxing life much much simpler. He instead prefers to paw and lose rounds. When he does land the jab it does quite a bit of damage. Fury is my guy but I do respect Deontay and am expecting a much harder test in the third fight. Fury had better stay focused.

If Fury is right, Deontay can't beat him, no matter what he does. Foreman can't fight for him. Foreman can tighten him up a little bit, but Fury is too smart, too quick and too good for him, period. Foreman had archie moore and sandy saddler helping him against Ali. You can't find two better people than them to have in your corner, but they still couldn't help Foreman that night, why? Because they couldn't fight for Foreman, and Ali was just too smart, too quick and too good for him. It's the same exact thing here
