  • Comments Thread For: Floyd Mayweather Rejects Rumors That He Needs Money

Former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather has rejected the constant rumors which suggest he squandered away his massive fortune. In his two biggest pay-per-view fights, against Manny Pacquiao in 2015 and Conor McGregor in 2017, Mayweather claims to have earned a combined $600 million.

7 figures monthly wow. Whether you like him or not everyone in boxing can learn something from him. And even people who are not in sports can learn a lot about hard work and smart business from him. As of right now he can make a ton of money doing anything and everything. Personally I would like to see a book on his career/life because a lot of people don’t know the real/full story. Especially the early years. And there’s so many unauthorised ones I’ve seen. I want the real thing, and he could probably sell than for $20-30 and millions of people would pay for it. People saying he needs money are straight haters. The guy has businesses and real estate all over the place. Even in retirement I reckon he’s earning more than even the best fighters do when they’re active. He has a lot going on and is extremely smart.

I don’t see him boxing again. The only possible way would be if McGregor had a couple of huge wins and got back on top. But at this point I’d rather see TBE be done with it and live comfortably. It says a lot about the impact he had on the sport that fans are still desperate to see him come back at 43, but he gave us 20 years of greatness so I’m happy with that. Stay retired and live comfortably champ. Thanks for all the great victories and entertainment over the years. I remember when people like Brian Kenny (he must feel so ****** now) used to say “he’s ducking Hatton, Mosley, Pacquiao, Cotto” and it’s kinda funny now to look back at those interviews and fights. He fought everyone we wanted and more and dominated every single one of them and made it look easy.

Flexing so hard here it makes you kind of wonder. I find it hard to believe though, I can't imagine him running out of all that money. I really do wish him the best but you can tell he still lacks true happiness despite all that money he ought to still have.

So many of these new young “fans” in boxing are complete and totally pocket watchers....it’s just the most feminine thing ever. As if the ones saying it on here and social media have ANY money themselves

A sum over 600m just doesn't disappear. I can't say to know a great deal about his private life or his business dealings but bits I've read he's done alright...

These people saying whatever know he's short on cash how exactly?,
What happened, did Floyd stop throwing his money about in a club one night and made his hangers on pay for themselves, now all of a sudden he's skint?..

If he is skint then so what? He exhibition fights some part timer in Asia or Middle east and makes an absolute fortune only mortals like ourselves dream of making in a lifetime...

Richer people than him have gone broke.
That private jet alone can drain a rich person very quickly.
50 cent once said Floyd would essentially go broke between fights and that Haymon wouldn’t let him get a financial advisor to keep him needing money and fighting for him.
There were also those old rumors that Oscar De La Hoya fronted him money to keep the IRS from seizing all his property and that’s why he worked with Golden Boy for so long despite hating Oscar with a passion.
It’s not how much you make it’s how much you keep. Floyd has alway had a lot of people around him with their hands out.

Ah also old rumors, hmmm they must right.

Somehow I dont believe for a second Floyd is low on money he has so much income available and being generated in retirement it makes no sense, for me its just media creating there own stories out of anything but mostly out of so called rumors, you know how easy it is to make up a rumor just say there is a rumor lol.

How often do you see celebrities address rumours? They are above the rumours and don’t care. Strange that Floyd does.

But they all dont each to their own and nothing is strange about it, celebrities act in their own ways, seems to be an individual is so wrong with some of you.

These kids think they deserve what others have. That don’t know how to work for anything. That’s the problem.
