  • Comments Thread For: Haney: Correct Thing To Say Was I Wouldn't Lose To Anybody; You Live & You Learn

Devin Haney has learned an invaluable lesson from the controversial comments he made last month. The unbeaten WBC lightweight champion acknowledged during Chris Mannix's most recent Sports Illustrated boxing podcast that he shouldn't have stated he "will never lose to a white boy in my life" as part of a live YouTube chat with fans.

Ok cool he said something ******. We can get over it anytime now. I mean BJS gave instructions on the correct way to put a pimp hand on a woman and it's over and done as it should be. Yet he paid ultimate prices for it which was absurd really and Haney made a ******ed comment. Dear lord let it go boxers are humans too.

You said what you said because you meant it. You're a racist along with millions of other racists in the world. If you think you've got big balls in saying it then use the same balls to take the abuse and grief along with it...

You apologised because it was advised, not by your own concience.

Everyone makes mistakes, but you're in the limelight and used a public platform to air your views so any abuse that comes your way you thoroughly deserve..

keep these thoughts in closet, even if you are a LDBC racist, which you are. In front of camera always talk positive and equality.

Date Jed Clampett's daughter, and they will hate you even more.

Well, even if the public managed to convert Haney from an open racist to a closeted one, it's still a good thing

You already said it, so OWN IT. At least be open about your Black supremacy mentality, a lot of people will flock to it. Half-stepping like this will only help you lose support from nationalistic/tribalistic fans on both sides of the spectrum. I personally hate the racial component of the sport, but i completely understand why it is there and how natural it comes about. With that being said, I actually think this is going to be great for Haney's exposure to the masses if the doubles down on his stance. He already said it, so why back down from them? Loma vs Haney vs Tank vs Garcia vs Teo. Let's see if a White boy or a Latino can beat Haney down.
