Funny thing is... It's the truth. PBF is all about the money. He's been fighting b-c level fighters for years now.

Castillo aint no money fighter. He's one of the best fighters in the world. He's beaten many good fighters. Corrales, Casamayor, Mayweather (even though he sucks), you guys are just Castillo haters who can't accept the fact that he's a good fighter.

Well Castillo is a good fighter. But he doesn't have the discipline and dedication to make up for it.

Not making weight in a highly anticipated rematch is inexcusable you know.

Though it's settled already, he beat PBF and PBF knows this, that's why he doesn't want to face pressure-type of fighters.

I still feel like some people hope there is a factory in upstate New York, shrouded by bushes and somewhere off the highway, that secretly builds warrior boxing robots. These creations look like men, but fight until they die in the ring- fight until they drop dead on the canvas and leave those who know or love them mourning. These boxing robots do not need to eat, or live, and money is no issue to them. They are programmed to fight. Fight and die for the fans.

Sure, I love a boxer with a big heart as much as the next fan. Someone whom you can see truly loves boxing and wants to fight, wants to give to the sport and fans by creating good match-ups when possible, and never letting us down with giving their all. That said, boxers are real men. They have little girls, young sons, wives and aging parents. They have to pay bills, put their children through school, and survive off their boxing income.

When you fight for a living- and risk yourself for it- it is very hard to say you should not be concerned with making money from your career. Some people work in an office, in a cubicle typing on a computer. Many men put on suits and drive off to work, taking the elevator up to the fifteenth floor every morning. Some pile into a truck and work at a construction site. Boxers lace up gloves and fight. They hit and get hit- sweating, bleeding, opening up epidermal hemoraging, brusing and breaking bones- while the fans sit and watch.

When you box there are only three men in that ring- the referee looking out for you- and the man who is your opponent. Those of us calling Mayweather a bum for not fighting tougher opposition, those of us praising him, any fan saying anything about any boxer- we are not there. So it is easy to say, 'Hit Harder', or 'Take more punishment', 'Don't go down now!' - also easy to say, care about us, your legacy, and not your money.

For those men boxing, though, they have to care about money. Boxing is their career and they try and earn a living while battling the pressure on their bodies, and the constant tick of father time. As a boxer, your face retirement in your mid to late thirties. Imagine if you had to retire that early. Sure, some of these boxers are well off in your eyes- but how can we tell them not to want to make as much money as they can, while they can? For their hard work they want to be rewarded.

It's a thin line between wanting a legacy, and doing what it takes to always preserve one, and wanting the most money from every fight for your long-term lifestyle. Understanding all the factors that cause fighters to make such desicions helps me to be a bit more understanding- not say they do not care about the sport. Sure, you can be dissapointed when a fighter seems to be taking the easy road- but do not call them a bum, or belittle their bravery. They lace up the gloves and fight, not us, and most of us have never even taken the step to get into a ring.

Boxing is a part of life, not seperate from it, and boxers want to enhance their life through their career- just like all of us. We need to try and be a bit forgiving.

No offense, but you post too long posts. Make your point short and simple.

So every book should be a pamphlet? No offense, but you post your thoughts and I'll post mine. I have nothing against you, but if you don't want to read what I say- just don't. I'm sure some people don't, but those who want to may. I can't change the way I write or think to suit anyone else.

                  this thread is ******
boxing number 1 is a job , you make money for working and you want as much money as you can gain , you dont go to work and ask for $4 an hour when the company is prepared to pay you $14 , a reguler 9-5 job you have a working span until your about 65 , in sport you last till bout 40 max and in boxing your prime objective is to make as much money as possible and take as little risks as possible cause when you retire if your fortunate you wont have to work a day in your life again.

Actually, I guess you're right. I actually like to read long posts with thought and insight instead of short idiot ones. Nevermind what I said.

Hey man, even if you like short ones, that's fine. I don't want to force anything on anyone, I just come here to express myself on boxing, speak my mind, and learn from all the intelligent fans here. I won't hold a grudge if someone thinks I'm long winded. Some of my posts are a bit lengthy, but that's just how I choose to do it sometimes. All the same, thanks.
