I’m not sure. I envision the number one pound for pound fighter dominating the competition, which has always been my knock on the idea that Canelo is that guy.

Golovkin is clearly not dominating the competition, but he would certainly have an argument. Many people consider Canelo to be that p4p guy now and the series would feel like 2-0-1 Golovkin to the vast majority of those who watched it (assuming a GGG win for this thread’s sake.)

I would say no. I think Jacobs-Canelo-SD-GGG are all about the same level. They’re all very good but not great and will fight close fights against each other.

I would lean towards Inoue who’s never really been challenged. He did show vulnerability in his last fight but I don’t think that fight was close. I think he’s the closest thing we have to a dominant force.

Lomachenko would probably be my next choice, followed by Crawford.

I would just like to see someone actually do something to separate themselves but I don’t see it happening anytime soon.

GGG shouldn’t even be on the top 10 list of P4P fighters. I mean if he beats Canelo at middleweight it only proves he might be a better at middleweight. But P4P he hasn’t done anything @154, 168 or 175! P4P wise ggg holds a NG status imo.

At this age and showing his vulnerability GGG even if he won wouldnt be p4p #1.

A lot of people had GGG winning over Canelo twice or at the very least once is is why real fans of the sport and not ****** ass low IQ posters still rate GGG highly.

      The way I see it

      GGG/Canelo
      Jacobs/Derevychanko
      Andrade
      Charlo

I don't think Canelo being a "4 time champion" because I dont rate cherry pick titles very high. If that was the case Adrian Broner might as well been top 10 p4p at some point and I I never view him that way, same goes with Mikey Garcia.

Canelo doesnt win tough fights convincingly and there are too many asterisks for me.

      Crawford is doing nothing.

Imo Lomachenko is p4p #1 even though he doesnt have some of the accolades or amount of fights the others have.

He was dominant in every weight class and took on everyone. No one wanted to fight Lomachenko and when those guys did they had nothing to respond.

Even at 135 where he looks more human he still rarely loses rounds and always dominates on the scorecards not to mention his impressive KO percentage combined with KDs. Hes taken out near all the competition that low ass IQ posters need to reach for the next boogeyman every fight.

I think Inoue should be #2. Yeah he "struggled" against Donaire but styles makes fights and Inoue was injured for like 10 rounds with a broken eye socket. Winning the WBSS along with his other championships does it for me.

Canelo would probably be #3 p4p for me. Even though his wins were good, they werent too impressive. While Inoue and Loma are taking care of business at their weight I dont give Canelo the benefit of the doubt because he hasnt proved to be the best at any weight.

Depends how he beats him really. Canelo is not #1 P4P anyway IMO.

no, they are not... that is simply flawed logic

Salido actually BEAT Lomachenko, is he on the same level... ?

pushing a fighter close, does not equate to over-all level

if they fought 10x, Jacobs would push Canelo close every single time... but, he would lose every single time

          2 more examples...

we saw it with Mayweather for nearly 20 years... some opponents could push him close, and often the guys who could push him close were not even on his level... Castillo/Maidana pushed Mayweather, but neither are as good as guys like Marquez/Canelo... who got wiped

Pacquiao could never distance himself from Marquez

the first Canelo/Golovkin fight was VERY close... but it was clearly obvious that Canelo is more-skilled, and more well-rounded

the notion that a P4P fighter must dominate every opponent... is nonsense

            P4P... is over-rated as fcuk

plenty of " P4P " fighters... lost to non-P4P fighters
