I’ll tell you a little story. After grad school I went to Japan for 2 weeks.
I was in a restaurant when a young guy asked us if we were Americans. His English was pretty broken but he was asking questions like “do you know so and so” etc.. He was showing us pictures on his phone of celebrities and athletes. He pulls up a picture of the box of Mike Tyson’s punch out and asks if I know who he is. I said of course as I’m a big boxing fan. He got so excited and started doing imitations of the game’s bosses and of Tyson in the game.
That game was huge and really put Tyson on a different level globally than most boxers. The game had wide appeal because you didn’t have to understand the dialogue or boxing to pick up and play. Nintendo and Tyson were huge around the world in the mid to late 80’s.
I was pretty young and didn’t understand why they removed Tyson from later versions of the game after his **** conviction. I couldn’t beat Tyson until Inwas a bit older but the game was always on the rotation.

I played this a few weeks back and had a hard time getting past Super Macho Man. Then once I did I couldn't beat Mike Tyson.

Need more practice to get my skills back up to the level of the old days.

This is another reason UFC is kicking boxing's ass.

They're cultivating the kid with videogames & shxt, while boxing doesn't even have a gaming franchise.

All the big sports do, NBA 2K, Madden, FIFA, MLB, UFC Fight Night, etc. . .

Thing about that is EA has begun cutting corners and has become one of worst companies in existence. Their product is getting worse every year. $50 says when UFC 4 drops that the majority of people will continue playing UFC 2. The window of opportunity to step up with a superior product is here right now.
