Should have sent jr in with short pants and a school cap.

My dad says to tell your dad, I won’t fight the bad man unless your dad gives my dad a picture off his wall.

Ooh my dad won’t like that.

Well my dad won’t let me fight then.

Ok let’s not do the fight, get out of my office.

That’s how it’s done at elite level folks

They spent a couple of months trying to put the Eubank fight together. They had a date reserved at the venue but as the date got closer Eubank still hadn't signed and the situation was getting desperate.

Hearn was the lead promoter and he needed a quick remedy - he called a natural elite 154 fighter as I don't believe he had other world class middle weights and Brook said yes.

        Look up Occam's Razor.
"natural" elite 154lber lol....funny cause golovkin fans swore brook was never going back to 147 but he did......he had 0 wins at 154 and still has no elite/good wins there....him fighting there now is like golovkin fighting at 164....its because hes old

golovkin was also asked 6 months before about possibly fighting brook....that fight wasnt as organic as you were lead to believe....but they knew they couldnt sell its straight away

now its over a picture in barrys office? lol

why not ask about degale? i know its crazy to ask him to ask for degale(he did not even ask..in fact loeffler said they never did...they took what was offered without requesting anyone) even though gggs camp had been screaming 168 for years......but theyd rather bring up brook even after making fun of canelo for doing that with khan....

Lol, talk about spinning things to suit your biased narrative.
I did. My bad, I wanted to say he was an elite fighter - at 147 obviously - but he's naturally a 154 fighter

No, but why look for some out there conspiracy when we already knew how difficult Eubank Sr can be?
thanks - yeah, wanted to say he is a natural 154 size who was elite at 147

i meant to say natural 154-er but elite 147. I remember that DeGale was signed up for another fight or yes, he would have been a more obvious choice. That whole 168 thing turned out to be hype. Golovkin is a one weight career fighter - nothing wrong with that if you can dominate that weight as he has done for 5/6 years.

Me? I never had an issue with Khan fighting Canelo. I remember when I first read that I nearly spat out my coffee, then I got excited about it. Him and Brook stepping up to fight Canelo and Golovkin were really bullsy moves and I love fighters with attitude, Same for Canelo with Kov but to a slightly lesser degree as Kov had already been beaten.

i respect you for keeping it real with that post

and yeah degale had another fight...but i dont think it was anything special...they could have scrapped that fight for a bigger fight degale/golovkin.....but golovkin didnt fancy that type of fight

yeah its ballsy on the end of brook and khan....and tbh fighting canelo is now basically the equivalent of fighting a 2010 manny/floyd.....so you cant fault khan...cant fault brook either....but it doesnt look good on the end of golovkin dragging a WW up, when he himself is a career MW(at least canelo campaigned at 147/154), and you talked down on canelo for the khan fight

i have no issues with loma, usyk, beterbiev kovalev etc....but golovkin has always left a bad taste to me...

im not hating on you or trying to be disrespectful...but if you think everything in this world is on the up and up youd be in for a rude awakening...and especially in the sport of boxing

golovkin was asked in the gym, in an on camera interview, about fighting brook some 6 or so months before the fight was made.........this fight had some traction to it/speculation long before it actually happened...it wasnt organic...it wasnt some coincidence ....some last second/minute "save the date" fight

team golovkin would have been crucified if they made the fight straight up....if people knew that was the plan he would have been laughed at basically.....and they were waiting on canelo and wanted safe fights....and brook provided a safe fight that also raised his profile....it was a perfect fight.....dont be fooled....brook+safety of the fight=perfect while waiting for canelo

going for degale or another SMW would have been too risky...going for another MW scrub would have done nothing for his profile and would have beeen another ho hum 1.5-2 million dollar payday

brook provided a big UK fight/exposure plus a payday that was prob more than double his previous career high....

stop buying everything you are sold.....or at least be open to the possibility you were hoodwinked...try reading between the lines

"eubank lost his pen"....now were told it was over a picture in barrys office....lol...

Sure I'm open to the possibility, man. I already said it ain't impossible... I don't trust any of these fuckers whichever promoter is involved. They're all crooks for my money.

Equally though my approach is to give the benefit of the doubt to all fighters until it's proven otherwise. See... we were talking about Tank say yesterday or whenever. Now folk could construct all kindsa secenarios there, but I choose not to, bcause when we don't have access to the full facts we - that's all people - have a tendency to fill in the blanks with whatever suits there narrative. Then they start building more stuff on top of that and so on and before you know it you got whole castles built on nothing but speculation.

I am, fortunately, very comfortable with just saying 'I don't know' and reserving judgement till more facts become available, if they ever do. Stops you running away with odd flights of fancy.

I've said this many times recently to different folk, but that strategy I've ultimately adapted is to try to treat all fighters by the standards I judge my favourites, to give 'em the same benefit of the doubt, the same level of justified criticism and so on.

Oh yeah, and about Golovkin getting 'crucified' I think you vastly overate the importance folk promoters and managers give to forum gossip and a few social media channels. If they wanted to make the Brook fight they would have just done it without all the cloak and dagger which ultimately achieved nothing anyway. iI would have been big in the UK whatever way it went, and these guys care first and foremost about the money. Least, that's the way I see it.

Folk on here get lost in the forum narratives, which is why you get dudes like Breadman and any number of pros who have actually worked or trained with Golovkin praising him for his demeanor his helpfulness and his absolute dedication to perfecting himself and dudes on boxing forums calling him a coward and cherrypicker.

It is what it is though... you've chosen your team and I guess you're gonna stick by your narrative, just saying one day you'll see there is another way. A way where you don't have to create reasons why you dislike a fighter or why they shouldn't be respected... all these dudes should be respected, man, cept the ones who have been proven to cheat. You're a good dude Curt, but you'll make a better boxing fan when you realsie there ain't no heroes and heels here, just a bunch of professional fighters all doing their best to make a living by this crooked, beautiful sport.

nah i totally hear you...the mark of intelligence is to be able to hear/understand both trains of thought without accepting them as truth

i get it....its just...when i look at golovkins career and how it has played out i think my version falls more in line with how they operated

i dont doubt that golovkin is a good dude...and a real pro...i just think he left alot of the career stuff up to the guys in charge of him....and i think they are a little more deft than we might care to admit....
