  • Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Praises Andy Ruiz's Decision To Hire Eddy Reynoso

Three division champion Mikey Garcia believes Andy Ruiz made the right decision to align himself with respected trainer Eddy Reynoso. Ruiz reached the very top when he shocked the sport with a seven round stoppage of Anthony Joshua in June 2019 to capture the WBO, IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight titles at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Ruiz did the right thing. He's a good boxer, he just needs some new leadership to re-ignite his desire and to keep him sharp - and to possibly make him even better.

The way he EASILY disposed of Joshua shows evidence of a special talent. When he gets back to form, I'd love to see him match wits against Lean-Fest Flopper-Glove Fury!!... I'm just glad he didn't choose Atlas to recoup.

While I admit Im a little biased in that I wanted AJ to win
both fights, I like Andy a lot, think he is a good guy and talented too.

But he was fat as hell for the first fight, and he was obviously worse for the rematch. He isn't a very tall heavyweight and he could barely move in the rematch. At least not very well.

Also, while not everyone agrees with Teddy Atlas, he knows his sh-t and he mentioned that the stick and move style AJ used was what Parker used to legitimately beat Andy, though it was close, and Andy still hadn't solved that style.

Also, he doesn't really have anything on his resume besides AJ, and he can't milk it forever.

I actually think Bellew would be a fun fight.

I also think he would beat Dillian Whyte, who can be hurt. I would avoid Fury, Usyk and Parker, styles wont help Andy. Goodnite.

Ruiz looked better against Parker in NZ than AJ or Whyte did in the UK.

No trainer in the world is going to teach a fat phuck SELF discipline!

The only thing that is going to help him in that department is when he is BROKE again!!!

Until then he is just fooling himself and some of you.

If Ruiz is not pushed by the likes of Reynoso and the Canelo team , then there really is nothing to do
There’s enough motivation in that camp to get him back on track
                Time will tell

                  Team Canelo doesn't fuck around.

If Andy Ruiz gets with the program they will have him well prepared to fight. If he doesn't they will let him know about it.

Not me. And you’re absolutely correct.
He’s not just a fat phuck!! He’s one lucky som*****. Ruiz can train with ten world class trainers, he’s not capturing lightning in a bottle again.

There’s a reason we’re supposed to learn from history. This idiot knew about the comparisons with Busta Douglas and yet did the exact same thing, then gave the exact same self serving excuses.

He’ll get another shot for sure and will make some decent $$ but he’s going to be the Zab Judah of HW aka the perennial gate keeper
