Talks for a middleweight world title unification fight between Canelo Alvarez and Demetrius Andrade have been ongoing, and a deal is imminent.

Sources have informed FightNights.com that representatives from both Golden Boy Promotions and Matchroom Boxing have acknowledged that there is an "agreement" in place, The bout could take place on either October 19 or 26 in Las Vegas -- per sources.

However, this fight is merely a backup plan. Golden Boy has also extended an offer to light heavyweight world beltholder Sergey Kovalev (33-3-1, 28 KOs) to defend his belt against Alvarez, who would move up two weight classes for the bout.

First, there is a huge pool of Canelo haters whom suggest that BJS is too slick for Canelo because he’s a Southpaw and Lara gave Canelo problems. So which Southpaw is it? Andrade or BJS? Which makes more sense for the Canelo haters? The “on his A game good day action slickness BJS” or Andrade at 160?

The logical approach is to satisfy all the fans whom think BJs gives Canelo problems and new territory for Canelo to collect an Official 168 Belt.

Furthermore, Reynoso proves this rationale because in the video he says Benavidez, Plant and Smith are all there for Unification! Which means should Canelo win the WBO 168, they are committed to send offers again for Unification. If Canelo wins the WBO 168, we NOW FINALLY have a have the PBC Haymonites that think Canelo wants no part of Benavidez. Well Reynoso just said it all on video!

Reynoso also said (in the video) that they are not interested in Munguía.

Canelo wants nothing to do with demetrius andrade. Ducked him in 2013/14 when he was the mando for the wbo at 154 and he moved up to fight cotto. Then when andrade vacated the wbo he went down to fight liam smith who held it. And he fought for every version of a belt at 160 except for andrade wbo

When I see Andrade and Canelo in the ring fighting I will give Canelo credit. Till then he's been avoiding him like the plague despite being in the same divisions as him for most of his career.
