Tank vs Cruz has Mayweather vs Gatti written all over it except the corner of Cruz stops this fight earlier or Tank KO’s Cruz after demolishing him every round.

Firstly Tank has to worry about making 130 & no one can claim to know how that is going to affect him; esp against a relentless volume puncher always in condition. Tank wins against all at 130 & 135 in peak form - does he win easy? NOT A CHANCE - this has nothing to do with being a champ or commentator. These guys have said so much crap before anyway. At 130 LSC will be competitive

i think at that point they were focused on his exposure...and building him......theyve had him sell out in atl and baltimore...had him on a floyd ppv....had him headlining on showtime...they had gamboa in there with him which is a name alot of fans, even casuals, know regardless of how old/faded people think gamboa was at the time

hes going to headline his first ppv at the age of 25....and be the main attraction to it...how many guys can say that? not many...and when canelo did it he was just an opponent really.....

to me what they are doing with tank as far as exposure has been nothing short of spectacular so far...

he has plenty of time, if he keeps winning, to put resume building fights on there....what were guys like spence and crawford and most other p4pers fighting at age 25-26?

It's hard to get a feel for the buzz around a dude from the other side of the ocean so I'll have to take your word that this is effective at building his popularity. I'm more hoping that it ain't related to his weight issues in any way or if there's prblems with dedication or training that have led 'em to want to match him a bit more cautiously, cos I think he's got the talent to have been pushed harder. If they chose to do it that way and it's part of some strategy, fair enough I guess, but it seems a little counter intuitive to me unless they ain't got the money to throw at making better fights for him.

He is young, but if he doesn't hurry it up there's guys even younger that might start to eclipse him in terms of success if not popularity in Teofimo and Devin and Ryan... not sure he can afford to sit on his laurels, although LSC is definitely a step in the right direction. It'll tell us a lot if he makes weight OK, I think if he drops back to 130 without issues it'll be a good sign that he's taking the **** seriously.

again...you have to ask yourself some questions and answer them honestly and ojectively

how many other guys have headlined their own ppv at age 25? tank is about to

how many other guys have a good resume by age 25? tank doesnt...but he still has time to make that...who were loma, usyk, spence, crawford fighting at age 25?

when tank fought gamboa(yes i know hes old and faded) they strategically placed in in Atlanta on the night of the college football playoffs...im not sure how familiar you are with american sports but college football is huge especially in the southern part of the US...the playoff is hugeeeee....they had people walking out of the football game and walking right over to the tank fight...and he sold out.....hes sold out two good sized arenas already......

how many other guys fighting got to work a floyd undercard on a fight that did 2 million buys? not many....

as far as exposure hes ahead of the game and alot of people are probably envious...and older guys looking back would love to be in his spot when they were his age.....

his resume leaves alot to be desired...but hes very young with a shot to start adding and building it now....theyve done the leg work to get him exposure and get hype around him...now he can start that.....again....at the risk of sounding like a broken record....take the top 20 p4p guys now....show me who the majority of them were fighting at 25....some werent even pro yet....and alot of them werent fighting good fighters.....its like people expected tank to have a HOF resume by 25 or something the way some people talk about him

I'm getting the sense you think I'm going in on the kid, but I'm honestly not. I think he's a fantastic young fighter with huge potential but he just seems to have lost momentum over the last coupla years and I was genuinely curious if there was a reason why. Where he's at is good for his age, but around the time he fought Pedraza it seemed like he was about to go stratospheric but then he just began inexplicably fighting smaller guys and having weight issues and then recently other news about him. I don't expect a fighter of that age to have a great resume at all - and you're right his ledger stacks up just fine with most guys his age... but I do expect young fighters to generally and steadily increase the level of their opposition as they go forward which ain't really what happened.

I mean maybe it is like Paulie says, in fact I hope so, but it's still a worrrying sign when a kid starts blowing up between fights and struggling on the scales. his natural talent should take him quite a ways but if the discipline and commitment ain't there he won't be lasting long at the top. it ain't a good sign if a kid of 24 or 25 is getting bored of the opposition and a kid that age who's set on being the best should be in shape year round... you think Floyd got where he was by slacking off in the off season? Fact young Floyd was fiercely ambitious even pushing Arum and Trampler for harder and more fights than they wanted to give him. I want to see another PB, man, not another AB.

Let's hope he turns a bit of a corner with the LSC fight, comes in on target and starts setting his sights on his next title.

Since when was being an overpaid cherry picker a good thing? He's doing his 1st ppv against a blown up, feather-fisted featherweight and you're proud of that. The only way LSC has a chance at winning, is if Tank drains himself to a skeleton to make 130.

i think instead of steadily increasing the level the decided to take a break from that and focus on building his name/exposure

and youre right....floyd was ambitious and dedicated...if they built em all like floyd then floyd wouldnt be who he is....floyd is unique...alot of these kids still dont understand how floyd operated
