Comments Thread For: Ricky Hatton Warns Mike Tyson About Returning To The Ring

Former two division world champion Ricky Hatton is all too familiar with making a comeback after years of retirement. Hatton retired from the sport in 2009, when he was knocked out cold by Manny Pacquiao. In 2012, Hatton was able to overcome a lot of his demons outside the ring and got himself in proper form. He made an attempt at a comeback, and once again retired after getting knocked out by Vyacheslav Senchenko.

He is right Tyson is healthy and looks good to the normal person, but a trained boxer in their prime would eat him alive easily...

I mean, who are we talking about here? He would get to pick his opponent from the bkb roster, not take on Tyson fury or Anthony Joshua. I’m sure there’s some guys over there who would beat him at this point, but there’s probably some guys who are straight up bums. The concern I’d have is the bare knuckle format...along with him being 53 of course. Say he fought some guy in his 40’s who was never any good to begin with...are you saying a guy like that would “eat him alive easily”?

If we were talking about him fighting actual legit HW boxers, i'd agree. But BKB against one of the guys BKFC has on its roster? different story. The talent BKB has atm is pretty crude and shallow. Iirc their current HW champ is Joey Beltran, an 18-15 ex MMA fighter a decade out of his not particularly remarkable prime. Tyson would **** him up quickly.

Exhibitions are for fun - and it would be no different for this high profile celebrity fighter. It's a way to "show off" his past incredible "form" & "skills" in a way thats non-life-threatening to him in any way. It's usually officially - like three rounds at the most - to have his fans salivate at what could have been if "primes" weren't so short lived.

"If" he fights the likes of AJ, Wilder, Parker, Whyte, Fury etc., for those exhibition matches(?), then Mike has cause to worry. These guys will "snap" into professional "killer mode" if Mike catches any one of them "flush" with one of his patented muscle memory killa shots! In that case?? They'll try to tear Mikes head off for "fun." Hatton is right in that case scenerio. But against librarian turn boxer, or gardener turn taxi driver/boxer? Mike'll be fine.

Apparently by writing another word for laugh and chortle, it was deemed inappropriate and had to be censored. Come on Boxing Scene.

Thesaurus: the boys at school were sure to s n i g g e r at him behind his back: give a suppressed laugh, snicker, sneer, smirk, simper; titter, giggle, chortle.

$20 million? For 5 rounds or less against some bum in BKFC?

It's a risk worth taking. Mike would be set financially for the rest of his life as long as he is careful with that money.
