How about a Heavyweight Playoff, like the NFL?

    So the format is #1 fights #10, #2 fights #9, .... #6 fights #5. Using the forbes.com 10 Best HW's as of late March 2020 https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshkat.../#55f7ac586a80, the rankings are:

    1 - Fury
    2 - AJ
    3 - Wilder
    4 - Ruiz
    5 - Whyte
    6 - Parker
    7 - Ortiz
    8 - Pulev
    9 - Usyk
    10 - Helenius

So, Fury would fight Helenius, AJ vs Usyk, Wilder vs Pulev, etc. Who wins the first round of the playoffs?

Of course the winners rankings would dictate the entire second round fight schedule. I think this would be great. And the #11 - #20 guys could do the same thing, setting up next years Top 10.

By this, Whyte would rematch Parker and Ruiz would fight Ortiz. Who ya got?

I'd have Fury over Helenius in a closer fight than expected

AJ over Usyk by TKO in an exciting fight nonetheless.

Wilder over Pulev in a close fight until TKO

Ruiz and Ortiz is a tough pick if both come in in their best form, slight boxing edge to Ortiz, but Ruiz might KO him. Tough fight to pick right now. Probably he best 1st round fight.

And Parker in an upset decision over Whyte

      Quarter finals
      Fury wins easily.
AJ would get bounced in the first round by Usyk.
      Wilder KO’s the sushi sniffer.
      Ortiz 12 nils obesity boy.
      Parker stops Shyte this time.

      Semi finals
      Fury wins easily again.
Usyk beats Wilder or Ortiz. Dunno who fights who if there’s 10.

      Finals.
      Fury wins easily again.

They try HW tourneys every now and then. I think the last one was the WBA in 2012, but I could be wrong.

It always goes the same way, boxers don't give a **** about the next round and by the end of it there are either totally new guys fighting in the final or it fell apart because the participants would rather make other fights.

That's true. Maybe they could guarantee higher purses for the quarter, semi, and final rounds. $6 million quarters ... $8 million semis ... 10 - 12 million finals. That might not keep the elite guys but the rest of the division would seriously go after that money.
