Has the Canelo-GGG 3 situation exposed the DAZN model.

Having guaranteed contracts gives the fighters so much more power.

It’s seems DAZN don’t have the influence to force the fights they want/need.

If DAZN didn’t sign GGG and Canelo, they would be on another network doing whatever they wanted for huge money.

They messed up by taking Golden boys word that Canelo would fight GGG immediately and then telling GGG that the Canelo fight was guaranteed. That’s their own fault. I guess you could say that could be attributed to their model but i guess that’s really contractual stuff.

There’s far less urgency to face one and other though without the PPV upside.

There’s no way GGG would have got 15m plus to fight Szeremeta on HBO.

I don’t really know how to compare this era and the HBO era because the numbers are so insanely different now.

I just assumed showtime or fox or ESPN offered GGG ridiculous money to do whatever he wanted too.

It just seems like everyone is getting insane money now. To your original point, I don’t know if it’s a sustainable business model for anyone.

Nah, Canelo would be on ppv whereas as GGG's fight would be on basic cable.
