AJ vs Fury - who needs the fight more at this point?

Fury has all the momentum after beating the most overrated boxer in the modern era. He only needs Josh for legacy to cement his claim as the best of this era and perhaps from a business perspective because ESPN wants to recoup the money they invested in him. And Josh is the only one he can fight for that.

Josh on the other hand had his momentum derailed by the Ruiz fight. A fight he never needed but Hearn’s greed and his own ******ity by not listening to Rob cost him. His career is still at an impasse right now and he needs a big statement win to get back on track. Pulev and Usyk don’t have the cache to give him that. He needs to beat Fury and make a statement. After that, he can coast for the rest of his career.

So I’m going with Josh and that fight has to happen this year.

I’d say AJ because he’s the one trying to defeat the best available. Fury ? Not so much and has no title defenses so his career won’t be defined in title defenses, really most likely if they haven’t already forgotten the Klitschko fight and is all over these Wilder fights who is far more easier to deal with . Boxing fans have severe short memory, both AJ and Fury defeated Klitschko the better fighter .

At this point ? AJ needs the fight more as both share the common top opponent they have a win over and AJ needs that one missing belt he’s been looking for , Fury held all the belts separated and with a Fury win AJ gets ring title as well. Furys career can be cut and done if he retired soon ,not so much for AJ.

unlike khan who has sparred brook and knows brook hurt him in sparring numerous times ....aj has sparred fury and had him on ***** Street even as as an amateur ....so AJ feels he can beat him and stop him so I don’t see Joshua not taking this fight.....like fury he seems to have more confidence in his punching now and I am sure he to will want to show he has the better of Joshua.
Boxing needs these 2 to fight each other which means boxing is going to be the real winner

AJ is the 2nd richest and best paid active boxer in the world. He makes huge money no matter who he fights and is much richer than Fury who is also very wealthy but far behind AJ. Money wise Fury needs the fight more as it is his biggest possible payday. Legacy wise the once KOed AJ needs the fight more than the undefeated Fury.

To be fair, I don’t see AJ making 80 mil again without Fury..

Although he made a killing for the Ruiz fight, it was one of the most anticipated rematches in years and years. It was a huge fight. Plus the location was the reason it was such a high amount of money.

I think for AJ to make that kind of money again, it’ll probably have to be the Fury fight.

I think they need each other. Fury probably needs AJ a bit more for the money. AJ probably needs Fury more for the credibility at this moment.
