Bud should just take the short end of a 60/40 split. Spence won't give him too much trouble. Short money isn't a problem for an easy fight.

These guys have big egos, and their promoters don't help matters. Just beat his ass T.C.!

Crawford got put on ***** street by blown up and inactive Gamboa. Jose Bumavidez took rounds off Crawford until his bum leg gave out. Crawford had to lowblow washed up glass jaw Amir Khan to stop him. Washed up and weight drained quitter Brook damn near closed his eye within a few rounds before he quit. Eurobum Mean Machine dropped him. Faded and ready to retire Shawn Porter took rounds off Crawford until the fixer round where Daddy Kenny got paid to stop the fight.

Crawford knows it's not an easy fight. There's a reason he is pricing himself out. There's a reason he ducked non faded top caliber fighters his whole career using the Top Rank protection program with ESPN exclusivity. The guy was cherry picking bums and faded former champs because he knows he isn't as good as you fangirls of his think he is. The guy is packing a glass jaw that even a Lithuanian turnip farming bum took advantage of. Luckily for him that ref was part of his Top Rank protection program at the time and didn't rule it a knockdown, which it was. Virgil Ortiz is 1 dimensional but whooped up on that Eurobum easier than Crawford .

Crawford has no where to go to make this kind of money. If he passes he will be viewed as one of those he could had done this or that. He will be quickly forgotten because he has not left his mark on the sport and now is the chance.

Goddamn ego's on the line. They all think they are better than the other, and refuse to back down. Sometimes you have to be the B side in order to take the lead.

Look at Oscar DLH-Mayweather for example, Mayweather was the B side and when he won, he became the A side and took over the PPV sales.

The A side question comes down to who has the better options.
If he doesn’t fight Bud then a fight with Thurman wound still do good business for him and he would probably make just as much if not more than giving up a bigger split with Crawford. Haymon would prefer an in house fight than making a deal with a low drawing free agent.
Who does Bud fight that he’ll make even remotely as much as a Spence fight? What promoter would he work with? Will Haymon do other business with him if the Spence fight doesn’t happen? He’s a risk for any other fight as he will want big money but is not a big draw.

Crawford is the slightly higher regarded fighter but Spence is the clear A side IMO.
