Comments Thread For: Errol Spence Open To Fighting Without Fans In Attendance

Whenever boxing as a whole is able to resume, industry-wide common knowledge has suggested that the first wave of events will take place in venues that will remain closed to the public. Such a dynamic would seem to be a hindrance to the biggest draws in the sport, many of whom benefit from incentives from ticket sales. Others are able to see the bigger picture, where exploring such an option would be the difference between remaining active and growing stale as the sport prepares for next steps in the wake of the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

It's funny how some fighters have said they are open to fighting without fans, some others have said they are not open and won't take a pay cut. Well guess what? You don't have a choice, if you want to get paid some sort of money you are going to have to fight in which way or form it comes, and you are going to make way less than you usually make because there is no gate. For the fighters who have millions and millions of dollars maybe they could take some time off but everyone else is going to have to adjust.

I think ole Bob had a good idea. Cut PPV prices in half and you'll get more buys. Less people will wanna crowd up and at an affordable price pay for it for them to enjoy in the privacy of their own homes.

I assume without fans the check won't be as right to fight for many mfers.

PPV level fights probably don't even happen cuz the gate on those are usually a nice lil chunk of change.

No way in hell we’ll have any meaningful fights if boxing comes back this year. Expect all these dudes to fight tomato cans

Bob is ****** but he understands economics. People might pay $40 but steal $80...that's just the reality of it.

Yep that's generally the case and if we are considering crowdless fights its probably the most efficient way to gain maximum capital for the fighters
