Comments Thread For: Arum Could See Muhammad Ali Struggle Against Tyson Fury

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who promoted the legendary Muhammad Ali, believes the three-time heavyweight champion may have struggled against the likes of Tyson Fury. Arum is not sure that Ali, as gifted as he was, would have been able to overcome the size and strength of Fury, who is also very quick for his massive frame.

Fury isn't actually 6'9 in any case.
Even a heavily juiced Fury would fade over 15 rounds and get knocked out if he wasn't stopped by cuts.

Fury would never lose to a midget like Ali, sorry folks.

Fury leans all over him & beats him up.

          Struggle?

Fury straight up whoops Ali's ass

Ali struggled Vs bum 175lb Henry cooper, getting ktfo then given smelling salts and a ripped glove.

6'2" 218lb Ali would not cope with 6'9" 280lbs of fury, Fury isn't some slow ass, skill-less 6'5" 230lb "giant" like they had in Ali's era, he is a tru giant with speed and exceptional skill

This is where ******ity gets in. Ali fought the best of 2 decades. Fury has yet to defend a belt an and he hasn't even fought most of the top 30 today. Ali never had to use steroids to help him either, like Fury did. Other than Klitschko and Wilder, Fury has a terrible resume while Ali fought multiple Hall Of Fame boxers. This is a ****** match up and if you believe that Fury would even come close to beating Ali, you are on the short bus

By the 12 round if he lasted Fury would be out of steam. Rope-a-dope and all.

The great Ali fought more than 12 rounds 14 times.

              Tyson Fury-0.

Like it or not Arum making sense here. Styles make fights and a fighter like Tyson Fury or a Lennox Lewis would give a style like Ali's great trouble. Ali had a superb style for punchers, stalkers, and big and powerful guys who come forward. A guy like Mike Tyson (my all time favorite) was tailor made for a fighter like Ali but the way Fury fights along with how damn big he is reminds me of a De La Hoya vs Sturm situation. Of course Oscar was the better fighter but the size was just too great to overcome (even though Oscar somehow came away with a BS win anyone who saw it knows that was like a 9-3 fight for Sturm).
