  • Comments Thread For: Kownacki Keen On Helenius Rematch, Showdown With Ruiz

With all of the relevant heavyweight hardware committed to rematches and mandatory defenses, there stands little chance of anyone outside of that scope landing a title shot anytime soon. In a way, that's good news for Adam Kownacki even if his current year hasn't gone according to plan.

fuuk if Adam wants that fight with ruiz right now before a tune up , Andy should take it ( assuming he doesn't want too soft a touch for a tune up for his first one back too ). That would be a great fight and just ass backwards appearance wise for the type of fight they would likely produce . I'm assuming it would create crazy compubox numbers and high speed action. I would think Andy will not want a guy with crazy stamina for his first fight back tho .

Kownacki vs Arreola was something else stamina/ volume wise ,I don't think Andy would have that type of stamina and volume on his best day ( let alone coming down from likely over 300 lbs ). I get the impression ruiz will take a very soft touch that can give him some rounds as his first camp back is likely going to focus solely on losing weight .

I mean you would think Ruiz would win for sure , but there are a few things to factor in ......

-what type of shape does ruiz get himself into ?? Kownacki comes in shape always ( not visually per se ) and has stamina . Will Andy be able to keep up the pace if he isn't in top shape?

        - is Andy going to fall in love with his "power ." Ruiz has pop but isn't the huge puncher people are making him out to be since Joshua 1 . Ruiz is a great combination puncher for a short wide heavyweight , if he ends up looking for the one hitter quitter and doesn't find it , there's a good possibility that Adam could outwork him and win a decision .

Either way I'm sure both guys take a soft touch for their first fight back and this would be second on their comeback trails .

ruiz has a better chance of ending his own career considering he's a fat unmotivated goof.

Ruiz beats Kownacki easy. Kowanacki needs to go build up against some half-decent fighters and use more movement.

I like the way he's talking but he shouldn't rush back in there until he's learnt some new skills

Ruiz vs Kownacki would be a great fight to watch.

If Ruiz is in decent shape he wins. If not I think Kownacki outworks him.
