  • Comments Thread For: Arum: Dana White's 'Cowboy Behavior' Doesn't Do Anybody Any Good

Bob Arum hopes anyone that participates in the three UFC cards scheduled for next month in Jacksonville, Florida, leaves those events as healthy as when he or she arrives. The outspoken promoter just wishes Dana White would exhibit more caution and patience during this devastating pandemic. Arum was very critical of White when UFC's president tried to bring UFC 249 to Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California, near Fresno, on April 18.

Arum is right... and let me say I don't often agree with Unkee Bob. White is just way too headstrong, tries to push forward without thinking things thru. That is NO way for a promoter to operate. Especially in a situation like this with a pandemic and real lives at stake. Maybe one day soon he'll learn to just chill out, lose the ego, and start listening to people who are way smarter than he'll ever be.

Maybe when Dana gets the Wuhan virus, then he would chill out.

Been head strong can only go as far as one is healthy and the fighters go home healthy without 0 possibility of contracting the virus.

If he goes ahead and more people get infected...the government and the citizens would come down hard on Dana.

Dana is racing/pushing ahead to be the first major contact sport contest broadcasted because he knows it will be a massive money spinner. That's the main thing Dana is interested in. All this talk is also giving UFC promotion and advertising huge ratings without even paying for it.

As much as Bob keeps keeping himself in the limelight by chatting about anything and everything, his beef with Dana and the need to keep banging on about him and what he's doing is also boosting Dana's profile in the limelight. Dana wins all round..

I don't particularly like the guy although I admire he wanting to move things on... but not yet for me, it's not time/safe yet. It may be safe/controlled inside the venues and it may run smooth, however you will still get morons who ignore the lockdowns etc and gather in places they shouldn't and even gather at the venues. it's inevitable it will happen..

Boxing should learn from UFC and hold all their events in Florida. The cowboy knows how to bring the beef.

Arum said he is going to try to do this at earliest in June so what is the difference between a few weeks of waiting or even a month the virus isnt going anywhere and a cure or vaccine is long away as well. People need to understand experts estimate social distancing can maybe last 2 years to not overcrowd hospitals so better UFC and Boxing just move forward. The NBA is even discussing playing games at Disney because its going to be years until the world can be back to normal.

UFC are test dummies for ESPN’s rating experimentation. UFC doesn’t care about public health.

1.) How/who can attendee blame if they get sick after attending? UFC wouldn’t be held accountable.
2.) if there are 1000-2000 attendees, what’s the multiplication rate after that? 1:4?

I’d be more interested in how ESPN value combat sports with MMA vs Boxing? Two different sports and fans. not everyone is into boxing and MMA is more commercially and mainstream enjoyable because it’s “mixed martial arts.”

Oh Bob, mind your own business. Once you see nobody gets sick at the event, you all will wake up to the lies if the so called pandemic.

Where are you getting your numbers ?? The ufc is going to be done with ZERO fans. I don’t agree with Dana doing this but at least get the numbers right
