A few days ago, former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew explained that he's still capable of fighting the top names - and strongly believes that he could easily defeat former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz. Always draw a bit of criticism for playing the 'I'd smash him, but I'm not prepared to back it up' card.

But to be fair to Tony he's exceeded all expectations in terms of titles and pay days.

My guess is we see bellew in the ring again . I think he could give ruiz a scrap , but I dont see him winning . I personally think ruiz is over rated , while tony is underrated but as a cruiserweight. He has done nothing at heavyweight to make me think he can compete in the top 10 . Haye was shot and injured . If bellew knows what's good for his careers " legacy " he keeps out of the ring and leaves the story as it's been written .

Yeah, I don't give Bellew too much credit for talking himself into the Haye fights.

If they were both to meet at cruiser in their primes, Haye would have brutalised him in much the same way he did Maccerinelli in their unification.

I remember Adam Booth saying once in an interview that the only times he was free from injury were against Maccerinelli and Chisora and I think that showed.

Ruiz is just too big. Bellew isn't really a mover and he's not really a heavyweight, he wouldn't survive in the trenches with Ruiz which is where it would end up when Bellew tires out after a few rounds

Just because you beat a shot to bits Haye that was forced to come out of retirement to fund a divorce, even though his body was falling apart, it doesn’t mean you have any business fighting decent active current heavyweights

Haye’s first 2 comeback opponents were even worse than Fury’s, which showed where Haye was at. He knew he was done but was looking for a big money fight.

I don’t mind Bellew, he was a very decent fighter but wouldn’t last 5 minutes in the HW division

I guess while there's no actual boxing we're gonna hear the whole Sky Sports team tell us what they would've done, what they couldve done. What they should be doing is working on being better commentators. I'll never listen to Bellew again after the garbage he spouted after Smith vs Ryder. At least try to hide your biases.

Tony showed against Usyk that he has top level foot movement, but he can’t do it for 12 round. Ruiz would walk him down and brutally knock him out.
